Hello my fellow bees!
SO, with my wedding now being less than four months away, I finally had my hair trial this past weekend. For the longest time I have always wanted my hair down and curled because I always wear my hair down. Well I changed my mind last minute and had my hairdresser do an updo instead (who by the way has never done my hair before, I live in a very small town so choices are extremely limited) and I didn’t totally love it. I thought I loved it, and I did at first, but the more I look at photos I keep questioning it, and I question her experience also (For example, she wasn’t teasing my hair properly).
So Im lost what to do. I talked to her about doing a second trial to perfect the updo, but I’m now questioning if I should just do what I originally wanted to, and keep it down and curled. But do I just do it myself because I am SO picky with how my hair is curled? I know it seems ridiculous, but I’m really torn. I’m afraid I’m going to regret having my hair up and that I won’t feel like “myself” but at the same time having it up is more practical since our wedding is in August and we’re having an outdoor ceremony and reception. It’s a bit more laid back/casual wedding. And my dress is strapless with a sweetheart neckline and is all lace.
Any advise would be SO greatly appreciated as I just feel completely lost at this point!!

I would keep my hair up, you are going to be sweating, dancing etc. By the time you cut the cake you don’t want to look like you were pulled backwards through a bush…lol Have a second trial, the wedding will be stressful enough doing your own hair could drive you nuts…

I voted do your own hair, but of course only you can know how you think you’ll feel the day of (like if you’ll be too stressed to do it yourself). But generally when brides feel strongly about how they look and are confident in their ability to do it themselves, I think that’s the better option than paying a ton of money to a hairstylist who you’re not sure will get it right.

Do what makes you feel best. Why don’t you try doing your own hair trial at home and style it how you’d want it if you did it yourself. See how it feels and then compare it to the up-do or go in for a second hair trial. I thought I wanted my hair a certain way for the longest time, but I ended up going for something else. I think it’s really all about trial and error and finding out what makes you feel the most beautiful.

If you wouldn’t feel like you with an updo, then I think that answers that question. I always wear my hair down, too, and I really don’t like it up, so I know I’ll have mine down (outside, in Florida, even!).
As for doing another trial or doing it yourself, if you think you’ll do a better job and you’ll be less stressed knowing that it’ll be how you want it, then do it yourself! Just make sure you allow enough time so it doesn’t feel rushed or stressful. If, however, you’d rather be pampered on the day of, then go for another trial and have her do it down with curls like you initially wanted.
