I wore my hair down, with a catherdral length veil and it was not a problem! Veils are places in your hair with a very secure comb so there is no need for a particular style or accessory to wear one!

You can definitely leave it down. You can have your hair stylist (or a family member/friend) tease a small area of your hair where you’re going to place the comb to make a “nest” to make it grip better.

If your hair is too slippy to hold the veil comb on it’s own, you can also make an X with bobby pins in an underlayer of your hair to secure the comb.

I wore mine all the way down with no problem — and I think my hair looked just fine when I took it off :

ladama :  Oh, thank you!  We have a lot of red hair in my family — my sister’s is much prettier than mine!

I had mine down in loose curls and the veil stayed put. I’m not sure what my stylist did, though. I suspect pins were used but I had my hair redone after the ceremony so I’m not sure! I don’t have my pics back yet but I have my trial pics that give some idea.  It’s definitely doable!!

And this is what the back looked like without veil.

lucyinsky :  Thank you 🙂  No bobby pins … I think my stylist did tease it a little bit to get it to stay but nothing too dramatic.  My veil had a big comb on it (sort of like this one) and it just stuck in there and was fine!
