I ordered my veil which will be in next week and have a hair appt as soon as it arrives, however, I can not do dirty hair. I never have been able to, because I have really bad dandruff and if I go a day or more without washing my hair I can not stand the itchiness. I just can not do it, never have been able to.
I know that you can use prducts, moose, gel, etc and have found that dry shampoo works great for quick style ups after riding our motorcycle, but I was hoping that there might be some other options for making sure I have good looking hair without it being too dirty.

I know everyone says hair looks better styled if it’s dirty but I always wash my hair and then it looks just as good styled I think. But that’s just my experience.

my hair stylist was fine when I washed my hair that morning. I talked with her explaining why I had to before hand so she blow dried it, used some texturizing product, and then did her thing.
As an aside.. I swear by nizoral whenever my scalp gets flaky and itchy. clears it right up.

I don’t think dirty is necessary at all, your stylist will have products to add to it if she needs it more shiny or more dry, etc. I’ll be shampooing only an hour or two before mine is done.

It’s not necessary. My hairstylist washed mine before the updo. I had a lot of static in my hair and she felt she could better control it if she washed it. She told me just to not wash it that morning so she could wash it herself.

I washed mine the morning of our wedding. Like you, I hate the feeling of dirty hair… I just don’t feel like I really showered unless I shampoo. Just let your stylist know in advance!

Personally I hate how flat unwashed hair photographs, it’s a lot easier to add product than it is to make dirty hair shiny (greasy not same!)

Adding some product is the best way to get it dirty if you need to wash it daily. But the need to do this depends on your texture. My hair is fine & baby soft/super silky. If my hair is clean, it will barely even stay in a pony tail, much less styled. We added extensions to my hair which helped with the texture & ability to style.

My hairstylist told me I should wash my hair the morning of my wedding. She then proceeded to tease/curl/hairspray the shit out of it for 90 min and then put like 50 bobby pins in it, so I honesty don’t know that it would have mattered what state it was in before lol. But I thought it looked great!

I usually have washed hair before I get an up do. They just spray it until I pass out anyway so I don’t see what difference it makes. Wash your hair if that’s what you need! It really won’t matter so long as it’s dry.

My stylist actually asked me to come with clean hair. She said it’s easier to add product than remove it. Fair point. Worked perfectly for me. A good stylist can work with any hair x

I washed mine the night before my wedding and put mousse in it to help give it some texture to hold the curls better. My hair looks flat if I wait a full day after washing it to style it. My hair held up fine.
