Be advised that some places won’t let you return hair extensions, so be careful to check their policy before you order (especially online.) Matching colors can be tricky. My stylist said it is always easier to make light extensions darker, but can be tricky the other way around.

For the styles you are looking at you want them secured by more than a clip.  Clips work if you style your hair with lots of volume so the clips won’t show, but if you are doing an updo, there is a risk you hair will fall away from the clip and the clip will show.

I am not a hair stylist, but I have gotten both sewn in, glued in and clipped in extensions. Also, my friends wear clips ins with their hair up and we constantly have to fix their hair so the clip is covered.  A professional hair stylist might be better at making sure the clips don’t show, but I am not sure. Microlink extensions would probably be the best for an updo that looks like your natural hair.

I am doing clip in extensions for my updo. Just a few because my hair is so fine, the updo I wanted will not work with my hair alone. I purchased my clip in extensions for a beauty suppy place.. only licensed cosmotologist could get in but my best friend is one. I believe you can get them at ULTA beauty.. and I know ethnic hair stores sell them as well.

i use to do hair extensions. best clip ins are skin wefts. trust me, if you have thin hair thats the way to go.

if your hair is baulding up top then i would go a lace front wig, and clips under it.
