I’d like to wear a hair flower but I want my hair down! Has anyone done this or seen pictures of it? I think you could do it behind the ear but I’m not sure if that would look weird, and I dont really want it half up and half down….

If you look through the wedding hairstyles on the Knot.com image gallery, there is a whole section of down hairstyles and many of them incorporate flowers. They are very pretty. Good luck.

I am planning on wearing my hair down with a hair flower/birdcage veil attached to the flower. I do plan on wearing the flower cliped on the side of my head, bringing my hair up a little on one side.
Here is a pic of what I plan on recreating (by adding a flower to it.) The model’s hair is down and I think it looks so cute! And I think you could pull this off regardless of short or long hair 🙂

that is super cute! and it is easy enough for me to put in myself before the reception, wearing the veil for the ceremony then the flower for the reception!

I just had flowers attached to bobby pins…so after the ceremony, I just slid them up on one side of my head.

I custom ordered mine from etsy seller Calexandra. There are a few sellers that make similar ones, but she custom made the 2 I have on and 4 green ones for my bridesmaids for $25. So cheap, but they were beautiful! She’s in the UK, but it was only $4 for shipping, so it was still a steal… less than $5 a piece.

@bree72, those are so cute…how did you get your veil to stay in when your hair was down? I am considering doing the same thing…did your hair hold its curl well? Or do you have naturally curly hair?
i would like to wear mine down, but it will be probably hot and my hair doesn’t hold curl well, so I want to make sure it will look good!

@ mulberry: I think that the trick with the hair down/veil is to have a veil with a thin metal comb. It seems like a lot of veils come with a plastic comb, but you cannot bobby pin them in very well.
My hair is not curly at all, and it is actually pretty thin, so we just sprayed some hair spray in it, curled it with a curling iron, and then pinned each curl with a bobby pin. I then got ready and we took all of the pins out right before I walked down the aisle. It just needed to be shook out a bit after the pins came out, but it stayed pretty well for the whole day (although it had more of a beachy look from the wind after an hour or so) and we were outside the entire time. As for the veil, we just placed it where I wanted it, and then put a bobby pin on either side of the comb. It did not move at all.
