I’m getting married outdoors in snowy February, and I want a messy, curled bun look. But I can’t decide what would be a better hair accent: a small crystal tiara, or red roses? I want an elegant, but not terribly so, look. Any ideas?

What dress are you wearing?

A strapless white ballgown dress, with silver beading, lace and embroidery.

Can to try looking at both options and going with the one you like best? Obviously, you should pick what makes you feel happiest, but IMO, I think crystals for a winter wedding would be elegant and pretty.

I’ll admit my bias – I’m not much of a tiara fan. But I think with the right dress and the right theme it might be best. You should pick the choice that looks best with your dress and with your look.

I think it will depend on what kind of jewelry you choose.
I was determined I was going to wear a tiara. I was even set to order one I found online that I fell in love with. But then I found this fantastic vintage jewelry at an estate sale, and it completely changed the direction of what I wanted to wear in my hair. The tiara was just too much with the jewelry.
But if I were to vote, based on what you’ve shared, I think the tiara would look gorgeous for a winter wedding. Almost as though you are sparkling like crystalized snow or sparkly frost. A tiara, a diamond (real or simulated) necklace and earrings, and a bouquet of red roses with crystal accents would look gorgeous!

I would suggest the flower (but white instead, since it would be more classic then red) or a headband perhaps instead of a tiara. I don’t know what the dress looks like, so I do not know what would work best
