So I have been a frequent visitor of the wonderful wedding bee boards and officially now need everyone’s help! I had my hair and make-up trial today and thought that I liked the updo at the time. My stylist did a very good job basing it off of a picture I had brought in. I wanted loose curls in the back with my sparkly headband and volume behind it. I have a lot of hair, so this was quite the accomplishment. However, when I got home I took some pics of it and wasn’t really fond of how it looked from the front. Maybe because too much hair is off my face from a straight-on perspective? I would really appreciate your opinions! Maybe a lower-do off to one side would be better so you can see some hair from the front? THANKS!

I think it is very pretty. Maybe you could pull some wispy things down to soften the front?

What a difference in the straight on vs side view! You can really see the volume in the 2nd picture. Your stylist did a fantastic job, the back and side view are just gorgeous! And I love the headband. But… I think I know how you feel, because when I wear a headband with my hair pushed back, I feel a little “naked” in the front. If you have bangs, maybe bring them forward instead of pushed back with the headband? If you don’t have bangs and don’t want to cut them, I think your stylist can create a kind of faux bangs by bringing some of your long hair forward in a kind of a side sweep and pinning the rest back into the style. You can try it and see if that works for you. Here’s what I mean by making faux bangs with long hair: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/side-bun-please-vote – See Options 1 and 3. Also, I think Option 1 would be really pretty with the same woven/curl look that your stylist created.

woooooo that’s a very pretty hairdo!! I had the same issue last week at my hair trial. loved it until i looked at it some more at home and from straight on….it looked like i had no hair in the back or something lol. So we decided to make the ‘do more on the side so u can see from the front.
ETA: or maybe make it so there’s more volume up top?

I agree with having some hair framing your face. The side view looks really nice, but the front view doesnt show any hair.
