I’ve always envisioned having long flowy romantic waves – this is my dream style, but I can never seem to do my own hair right. But that’s what a stylist is for! I have thick brown hair with long layers and straight bangs. I never wear my hair up and I don’t feel like I’ll be happy with it up.
My concerns are…
– will it look like too much is going on if I wear my hair down? (due to the style of my dress)
– what if it’s hot & humid? (wedding is outside but I do normally wear my hair down in the summer)
My only other idea is to wear a fancy, low, side ponytail.
the dress (before alterations – it needs taken in)
Here are my hair ideas –
low pony tail
THANKS FOR THE HELP!

I like the dark hair pic below Jennifer Lawrence!

I think you should wear it down if you want to, but you might need extensions since your hair isn’t very long (unless that picture is old). I’m with you–I don’t like my hair up much and won’t wear it up for my wedding.

I personally like the low side ponytail look. It’s beautiful! It gives the appearance of the flowy look you are going for, but also looks like it’s for a special occasion (which is absolutely is!) The Low side pony is the perfect compromise for everything you want! It’s manageable in hot and humid situations, but still gives you the “hair down” look

I love your inspiration pics especially #2!! I’m a huge fan of wearing hair down but I’m biased bc I wore mine down. I say go with what you’ve always envisioned…. I also love the side pony looks too! I really don’t think you can go wrong with any of those pics!

@BlondeMissMolly: Thanks for advice. My hair is a few inches longer than in the pic. And I have 6 months to grow it out still. It might not be exactly the length I want but I don’t want to fuss with extensions.

@weddingbound: I love your hair in your wedding picture! So beautiful!
One of my main concerns was will it be too much since I have cap sleeves too and the corset back (which I’m hoping to pull tighter). It’s hard to find pictures of brides with sleeves and hair down.

Thanks for the thoughts bees!
That’s what I was thinking about the low pony tail – it still has the flowy effect I want.

To show th back of ur gorgeous dress i would go w side ponytail.. If u r having more of a casual wedding then the braids would be lovely otherwise i would pick last one

@lstyle25: It is more of a casual rustic/vintage feel. Ceremony & Reception outdoors.
Maybe I can wear it down like I want and then pull it back into a nice ponytail somehow for the reception…
I’m trying to decide so I can decide on a veil too…! So many decisions, and I can be pretty indecisive. lol.

With all the detail on your dress I think an updo would be very classy and romantic and go with the lace. Since you normally wear your hair down, maybe do something different and more fancy for your wedding? If you’re really against an updo I’d also vote on a fancy side pony so the dress’ details can still be appreciated. I like #2 and #4 on your side pony examples most.

I looove that dark haired half up underneath Jennifer Lawrence.

@MrsFairyBee: I just have never liked my hair up and I don’t know that I would feel pretty with it up! I would definitely do a loose or messy do if I did. And that 2nd ponytail pic is growing on me too. I’m really liking it now.

I think soft/wavy curls down will be pretty and romantic!
