This is not me, but it is a local designer in Australia on her own wedding day… I love this look.

My hair had just been curled and sort of pinned into a bun. Nothing too fancy.

@LilianHarlow:  I love that look!  That picture might make me reconsider not having a veil!

I totally understand Loribeth! I first saw the pic in a bridal mag over a year ago… except the ad was for the makeup artist, not the designer. I contacted the MUA to get the details of the designer and was hell bent on finding that piece! *laughs* Where there is a will, there’s a way!

As it turns out, I’ve actually gone for a fingertip veil… but I do still love this photo. It also makes me want to consider red lips, even though that scares me for the big day.

@LilianHarlow:  Did you find the designer of that piece?  I think I might get the material to make one, and then I could decide on my wedding day what I like. It’s so hard when you have a look in mind, and then you find a completely different look that you like just as much.

I’ve never been afraid of red lips, but Jim is! Probably not a good idea to scare the groom on the big day!

*laughs* My boy would probably be afraid of getting “lip gunk” on him after our first kiss. I’ve already told him that no matter how much gloss I’m wearing, I’ll make sure it puts no colour on him… BUT he’s not allowed to wipe his mouth any time directly after our kiss!!! Imagine!!!

I did track down the designer, she’s an Australian girl working out of Sydney. I’ve opted for a fingertip veil though, so I didn’t end up needing to commission one anyway 🙁

I think if you can find the right pretty details to throw together, they shouldn’t be TOO hard to recreate? I’m just not very “crafty” so the idea of it terrified me.

@LilianHarlow: hahaha Fiance and I JUST had that conversation! I kissed him with one of my new shades that I thought wouldn’t rub off too much and he immediately wiped his mouth. I said “you better not do that on our wedding day!” and he said he would at least wait until we were recessionaled 🙂 But then I told him about the clinking of champagne glasses and he was like “oh well you’ll just have to deal with it then!” I am really really hoping no one does this at the wedding anyway but none of our guests have been to a wedding in so long I’m worried it will…

Oh dear… another wedding thing I’m unaware of? What does the clinking of the glasses mean? Is that when you’re meant to kiss throughout the reception?

I think I’ve found the lipstain that I will use and I will just have to try to use a not TOO sticky clear gloss on top… and have a more coloured gloss for photos.

Oh sorry didn’t see you replied- yea apparently people clink glasses at weddings and you’re supposed to kiss. I haven’t seen this at any wedding I’ve been to, but I’m afraid if it’s old fashioned then my whole family will be doing this. I may do some control while I’m home for christmas and let everyone know I will be annoyed if it happens 🙂
