MsBeer :  I agree with the teasing/volume comments. I also think you should try longer lashes — at least at the corners of your eye.

I have fine hair too, but your stylist has a few options. I hate tight curls and have figured out how to make loose waves last. Do not overcondition your hair. Use half or a quarter of the amount you usually use the day before your trial or wedding. Skip the hair oil or other post-washing hair treatments

1. Use extra hold hairspray and be generous on both sides of the hair pieces before curling. Curl the entire head and brush out with a wide tooth comb or fingers when the curls are completely cool.

2. Pin up the curls so they cool really tight. Once they’re completely cool, brush the crap out of them until they turn into waves.

Edit to add: you’ll also want to do a final and thorough  coat of hairspray at the end to keep your curls from moving. Don’t touch them at all after this. Oil from your fingers will cause the curls to fall. If you see frizz then use a wide tooth comb to smooth.

Your foundation does look a tad bit more orange compared to your neck.

MsBeer :  A couple of suggestions:

-Hair: lots more volume up top; softer curls; maybe some clip-in extensions? It looks like she pinned it in place, then added the curls (thus the prom-is look), maybe curl the hair first (all the way up, not just the bottom part), then style it?

-Makeup: maybe wear a white top next time so you can see how it will look with your white dress (if your dress is white, of course); add a bit of drama to the eyes (just a hint of liner, either winged or smokey); fill in the brows a bit more; I like the bold lip on you but that color seems a bit too pink-ish for you, maybe try a true red with blue undertones? Or a berry red? Nars “Jungle Red” is fab.

You have a gorgeous, fair complexion and your hair is lovely and glossy. A few tweaks and you’ll be knockout!

I agree that you need a lot more volume on the top of your head. It looks really flat from the front. I think the curls will break up/fall more once you wear them around for a while, so I wouldn’t worry about those.

I also agree that the foundation seems a bit off. And the lipstick looks too orangey as well. I love the red lip, but I would go for a truer red. Definitely need something more on the eyes. Thicker liner, or ask for a wedge. I think that a “cat’s eye” with liner will look like too much and a little costumey. My MUA is doing what she calls a “wedge” (I know nothing about makeup, but she assured me, and it looked awesome!). It gives you that drama without the harshness that comes with the liner. You look beautiful! I think your wedding is they day before mine, right (March 23)? It is so close!! So exciting!!

MsBeer :  We’re pretty good. We have to put together the welcome bags and put our candles in our lanterns and that will wrap up the “projects”. We need to do the seating chart (just finalized the RSVPs this week) and finalize with some of the vendors, but that’s all! How are you guys doing?

MsBeer :  it looks like she didn’t brush through your curls at all, but in the inspo pic they definitely did. Your curls look prom like because they are much tighter and precise.

I would do more dramatic eye makeup. It looks like she didn’t use much eyeliner or much in the crease. Depends on how dramatic you want to be. For me, I asked the makeup girl to make me look like a “bombshell” and she did a pretty dramatic eye with false lashes…and I loved the impacts of that. You don’t have to go that extreme but I think more oomph on the eyes would add some drama and sense of occasion. I love the red lips.

MsBeer :  Okay, so I love hair down and red lipstick, BUT, when its down, those curls are to defines, they should prolly be bigger looser curls and a little more volume on the top/sides. That would make it pop.

As far as makeup, I like that it’s not overwhelming, but to balance your top portiopn of your face to your bottom, i’d consider filling in eyebrows more for a thiker but natural look. It’ll feel weird at first, but trust me, it’ll make all the differene. Also, maybe a littleeee more eyueshadow to make your eyes stand out as well as a little more cheekbone contour would do beautifully.

Note: I’m saying a little, because I do actually like the subtle and simple/natural look, even if you are doing red lipstick. 🙂

You look gorgeousss

MsBeer :  I think a few small tweaks will make all the difference!! I would ask your hairstylist about flat iron curls. My hair doesn’t hold curl for the life of me, but if it’s unwashed & curled with a flat iron, curls for daaaaaaays! The curls need to be done before your hair is put up and they should be bigger & softer. Way more volume needed in the front and on the top.

For makeup, what about a smokey eye? The red lip might be too much with a really dark smokey eye, but a bronze or brown one would look gorgeous! Here are a few pics of that combo that I adore! Also check out how beautifully voluminous the womens’ hair is in the second pic. I feel like your hair should start like this, then be put up. 🙂
