How many people are doing makeup and hair for 11 people? That will be the main thing to dictate how long that part of the day will take.

Also where are you getting the 9am start? To me it sounds like your photographer is saying getting ready photos between 2-3:30 so you need to figure out how long your mua wants per person and work back from 3:30.

We started at 9am for a 3:30pm ceremony, but that was only for 6 people’s hair and 8 people’s makeup. With no first look. Since you have a ton of girls getting ready I think this sounds about right.

We started at 8am for a 2:30 pm ceremony with no first look. 5 girls getting hair & makeup done with 2 MUA and 1 hair stylist. The getting ready photos started around 12-12:30. Your timeline sounds about right to me.

I think you will be perfectly fine with a 9am start! I set my team up that early and my ceremony will be at 4pm with no first look. I rather be sitting around ready than rushing. I have 6 girls total for hair and makeup. I’d say the earlier the better to leave time for lateness and any problems.

My ceremony was at 4:45. We had all the ladies meet at the hotel around 9:30-10 (7 total for hair and makeup). Started makeup around 10 (we had 1 makeup artist and 2 hair). Husband and I left for first look around 1:30, then the bridal party met us afterwards around 2:15. We did the rest of the pics and then headed back to the venue for the ceremony.

I would say your timing sounds about right.

clipclop1023 : So your hair and makeup really does stay for that long?!?!

It is going to take at least half an hour per person, they are doing about 10 ‘people’ each which means it will be a minimum of five hours to have everyone ready and the stylists will want some buffer time so it isn’t a mad rush for the last one or two people.  There is literally no way to do makeup for 11 in any less time with only one mua.
