For the nails, revitanail Polish, amazing.

For you hair, only wash it every second day or less. I absolutely swear by this, my hair is really long, like nearly to my butt and really healthy. 🙂

My nails are terrible too, so thank you everyone for the tips!

OP, I had a similar problem with my hair. I’ve been trying to grow my natural color out but it’s ashy and my hair is a warm mediumish blonde ombre. What’s helped me is like a PP mentioned, washing your hair less. I was washing mine twice a week for a while, but it’s dried out a lot, so I now try to wash every third day. I love Redken All Soft shampoo and conditioner. I also recently started Redken Extreme Antisnap Treatment after my showers since I heat style and have had a lot of coloring done to my ends and I already see a difference. Definitely take a multi vitamin and make sure that you’re not deficient in other vitamins. Fish oil supplements also help.

I used to not be able to get my hair to grow past my collar bone and it’s now past my bra strap. Eating clean, drinking a ton of water, and washing less make all the difference! I heat style my hair almost every day and it would certainly be healthier if I didn’t, but my natural hot mess waves are not really appropriate for my job.

(Hair) Wen. I’ve been using Wen for years & it has transformed my hair! I wash my hair with it & then after my shower i put a little big on my ends for a leave in treatment/conditioner. I also don’t wash my hair everyday…& I don’t blow it dry, straighten it, or curl it very often & I think that has a lot to do with it. Also, keeping up with trimming it is important.

(Nails) Prenatal Vitamins. I’ve been on an antidepressant since I was 17 when I had an adrenal gland removed along w/a 5lb cyst that was attached to it. Adrenals deal with hormones, stress & your flight or fight reaction to stress. To try & help my body in dealing with stress, to try & preserve my only adrenal, I was put on antidepressants. Antidepressants can really make your nails weak & thin. I’ve basically had acrylics until recently. Usually when you take them off your nails are just destroyed. Well I’ve been taking prenatals for a couple months now & when I took my acrylics off, my nails were healthy as can be!!! They weren’t thin, weak, or destroyed!

I think you need to give yourself more time to see results. Biotin is really good for your hair skin & nails. Prenatals & Wen are just what I attribute my hair & nails’ current state of immaculate health.

OP, I would not use Wen. There’s currently a class action lawsuit going on where many people are claiming hairloss after using it: http://wgntv.com/2016/01/14/wen-hair-products-under-fire-after-reports-of-hair-loss/. Usually I say to take these things with a grain of salt, but my sister and one of my close friends (who are not part of the lawsuit) experienced this from Wen use as well. My friend who is a doctor also said not to take prenatal vitamins unless you are pregnant/about to be pregnant or otherwise told to do so by your doctor. There are a lot of adverse effects for those who take them and don’t actually need them. A biotin and fish oil supplement should be all the supplementation you need.
