Yeah I think they did miss the mark a bit. I think they understood the overall concept, but ended up pinning your curls too tightly to your head instead of adding in loose voluminous curls and waves. It looks like you may need a bit of teasing up top to help with that volume so it doesn’t look so flat. The picture from the very back looks quite cute but it looks like they need to do a bit more work on the top and sides.

They pinned the hair too tightly versus leaving it loose like the pictures.  I think they could definitely get there but you’re gonna need to tell them.  They had the general concept down.  I agree that the back looks better than the top or sides.  I think the back turned out the best.

The style is okay but it’s been hairsprayed to death. Your inspiration pictures are much less “overstyled” and natural looking. I think with a little coaching it will be great though 🙂

Oh my goodness, I had the same inspiration pictures at my trial and my hair turned out very similar to yours! After 2 hours of her playing with my hair, I had enough of it but I kind of wished that I made her get it right. Regardless, she knows what to do now. I also asked her to not put so much spray in it for the wedding because my hair was so hard and unnatural looking for the rest of the day (but it did stay up after 8 hours of running around doing errands).

I think the look your going for need to start with some texture… not clean straight hair.

If your hair is naturally straight (like mine)  I’d braid it loosely the day before and use some soft setting mouse or something to help add some texture.

I want to do something similar and have been researching how to posibly DIY it.
