Happy Labor Day everyone!
I have a question- I just came across a really lovely Etsy seller who makes beautiful combs and hairpieces ams I’m contemplating them for my bridesmaids, but I’m worried it might be too much. It’s a black tie wedding, my dress is very formal, and I will be wearing a rather large hairpiece after the ceremony. The girls will be in sparkly gowns, hair up, and I’d really love to get them each something small to wear in their hair to really elevate the look. Is that just totally over the top? Has anyone been to a wedding where the bridesmaids wore something in their hair as well?

I haven’t personally been to a wedding that formal. That being said, it sounds like a cute idea for a bridesmaid gift. If you love it, go for it!

I love the idea of a little extra sparkel. If it’s on the back of the bridesmaids hair, it would give the guest something extra to look at as each bridesmaid made their way down the aisle. Just stay away from a big pin sense the dresses sparkel too. Super sweet gift idea too!

I am in the camp of not dictating everything the bridesmaids wear. It sounds like you’ve chosen the hair and the dress. Personally, I would not now give them and accessory and force them to have it. It’s just too much.
Why not spend the money on something they will actually use in the future?

It steps over the line to dictate hair or personal grooming and comes across as controlling. You get the dress, and that’s all.
