@cheeseburger: i think that’s the new school version of mine. i’d say get one with larger paddles, unless you need bang action. (i actually have a tiny cheapo for when i have bangs) mine has 2″ paddles. can’t tell if they still carry that size! bah!

I love my Sedu straightener. I’ve had it for a looong time (like six or seven years) and it still works perfectly! (and I don’t want to go against the grain, but I like it better than the Chi)

If you keep the box and the straightener breaks for any reason, you can send it back!

LOVE IT!

I’ve had the sedu for about 6 months. I know I did a lot of research when I bought it, but I can’t remember why I picked this one over the other ones. But so far so good.

@cheeseburger – the Chi only has a 1 year warrenty and thats only if you buy it from like a salon and not online.  I have broken 2 chis in the probably 6 years I have been using them.  I think its time for me to move on to something new soon.  I would say if your worried about the warrenty – def dont go with the chi.  Its not even that they necessarily break but they become much less powerful/take longer to do your hair.  In other news I just go the brazilian blowout which was amazing so I dont even need an iron at the moment (but thats way expensive so may not be an option for you).

Chiming in here with my love for the Chi.  I’ve had mine for four years now and it’s still going strong.  Plus, it’s pink!

I know this is an old thread, but it has great advice in it, thus the reason I’m coming to ask for more!  Has anyone used any of the above as a curling iron also?  I love the shape of the curls from the straightener that’s used at my salon, but (clearly) can’t accomplish it at home using my cheap straightener.

Let me know how it works, or if they even can produce curl at all!  Thanks!

I use the babyliss pro titanium (I use the wider one). I bought it 4 years ago and it still works as good as the day I bought it. It is my holy grail of straighteners! Whenever we go out or people come over, they want me to bring my straightener so they can use it. For reference I have very long, thick, dry, curly, frizzy hair and I have to blow dry it before I straighten it. Most people that know me have NO IDEA that my hair is curly.

I also own about 10 other straighteners both super high end (like the Chi, GHD, HANA) and store bought brands like the Remington, hot tools, and conair and and not one of them work nearly as good as my babyliss.
