Help! I am having a tiny bit of a freak out.. My wedding is in 5 months – I realize that is in a little while – but my hair stylist cut my bangs way too short. I wanted this type of hair style (see picture below) for the wedding, but I am really worried I won’t be able to have this because my hair tends to grow at a slow pace.
My Fiance doesn’t understand why I was freaking out – I guess boys will never understand hair dilemmas like women do!
🙁 I am really sad about this… And I do not know what to do if my bangs don’t grow out by then. Any suggested hair styles that look similar to this that might work with bangs? I need a backup plan!

How short are they? I imagine you have plenty of time to grow out bangs a bit by September, even with slow-growing hair. If they don’t grow as long as you’d like and your stylist for the wedding is good, she should be able to sort of curl your bangs into the rest of your hair if they’re a little on the shorter side and hold them there with pins and/or hairspray. It may not be exactly the same as the photo, but the style would have the same retro vibe and shape.

@anemonie: The bangs are at my brow line. I’ve had bangs this length in the past but they took a long long time to gorw out… so that is why I was freaking out. Thanks for your reply.. I feel a little better – I think I’ll get a hair trial in August and see if it works out.

@PennyLane67: Try taking Biotin or hair, skin and nail vitamins. They did make my hair grow a little faster, so I would suggest it. Also, your bangs should be the fastest to grow out. I know that I feel like I need to have them trimmed about three weeks after they are cut.

however short your hair is, i think in 6 months it would be long enough to do that picture you posted.
one of my co-workers cut her hair super short (very very pixie) a year ago it’s already as long as the picutre you posted. sometimes she will use a curling iron and it looks super cute! i think you’ll be okay but there are some remedies for making your hair grow faster and also pre-natal pills. not sure if they are a myth or not but some people swear by them. i absolutley love that hair stle. oh, and bangs for some reason (on me) grow very fast. i have to get them trimmed every few weeks to keep them short.

I wouldn’t worry about this. The bangs can be blended and styled into the swoop if they haven’t grown out Yet. Beautiful inspiration pic!

I think 6 months is plenty of time to grow out brow-line length bangs. When you said she cut them ‘way to short’, I was picturing something like short betty page bangs. Try taking a multi-vitamin which will allow your hair to grow to it’s maximum potential. I took pre-natals from Target and they made my hair and nails grow quickly. Even if your hair grows slowly, in half a year’s time I bet you’ll have the length you’re after!

Thank you bees! 🙂 I feel so much better now – and I will definitely try some of the suggestions you put forward!

I think five months should be plenty of time to grow them out at least to an acceptable length! I would just make sure that if you are going to get a trim before your wedding that it is far enough out that your bangs have time to settle, and that you tell your stylist to cut them longer than your desired length when the hair is wet.

Pre-natal vitamins will make your hair grow like weeds (and won’t cause you to break out, which Biotin sometimes can). Be advised though…they make ALL your hair grow super fast, not just the hair on your head!

Date twins, yay!! 🙂
First of all I wanted to say that the style you have chosen is sooo lovely! Great inspiration pick. Secondly, don’t worry, as PPs has said you should be able to have it grow out by then and if not, then the stylist can work wonders with it to make it blend in. Vitamins and also massaging your scalp when you wash you hair will help your hair grow faster too.

hair typically grows a half an inch a month give or take. so in five months your hair should grow somewhere around 2 and a half inches or so. prenatal vitamins are the way to go. if nothing else they make you feel better, your skin healthy, and hair healthy… and your nails will grow faster and stronger too.

@anemonie: +1: since the hair is also parted, the stylist will have enough hair from the other side to make it look like you want it. Don’t stress, hair is super easy to adjust/make work!
