So I am super nervous about my wedding updo b/c my stylist who I was going to have do it, is now on bedrest until December (my wedding is in October)…eeek. So now I will have someone new doing my hair, and I won’t have my trial until 2 weeks before the wedding. I already have a few pictures picked out of how I want it to look, but my question is….how many different looks do they try? Just wondering how it works, if they try a few different styles, or what… since I am scared I won’t like what I have picked out.
If any of you have had your trials, how did it go and how many different styles did you have her do?

I went in with a vague idea of what I wanted, and my stylist, gave me options and input as we went (waves vs ringlets, high bun v low bun, side bun or back). Technically, I would say I had at least a couple things “tried” on me, but it was all works in progress and I walked away with a really beautiful style.
I think it will depend on your stylist, but the most reasonable MO would be that if you know what you want, they will do that for you, but I always say right off the bat: “you’re the expert, if there is something I should consider, speak up!”

@cherrycoke: I have my hair trial tomorrow and I have several pictures of ideas that I would like but am putting my confidence in the sylist to create the look I want based on the pictures. I plan on having one complete hairstyle by the end of the appointment (not trying one completely then starting over with something different on the same day). Good luck!

I just had my hair trial this past weekend. I started with the same “base” for all the styles, for example, I knew I wanted my hair curled. From there, she did a half-up style, a low bun style, and an all down style. I think as long as you start from the same “base” (curly, straight, …), most stylists can quickly give you an idea of what a finished style would look like. For example, dont expect to try a curly “do”, and a sleek french twist in the same appointment, especially if you have super thick hair like me.
I did go in with inspiration pics though, to help communicate my vision. We played around with the style from there. Have fun!
