So I had my Bridesmaid or Best Man (who’s a new cosmetolgist) do a trial on my hair yesterday. I have good news and bad news… Good news… She got my hair to curl… and STAY curly. It was a fricken miracle! (and about a gallon of hairspray!) Bad news… I’m not a fan of how she pulled it back… and how she gave me what my friends and I used to call the ‘sorority poof’ just not a very good looking poof. 🙁 Here’s a picture of the back… after loosening the curls (dont mind the top, this is after she fiddled with the front)
This is a pic of the back before she fiddled with the front (it was parted) and with only a little bit of losening of the curls….
Now here’s where I turn to you! Looser(first pic) or tighter curls (second pic)??? Should we go with a bigger barrel for the curling wand??? and finally.. what on earth should I do for the front???? I personally don’t like the straight pull back, I’m thinking because I always have some sort of part in my hair.. but will it look different with a veil??? UGHHH I need help! lol

What if you do looser curls like this:
And clean up the back a little bit like this:
Sweet mother I think these pics are huge

I like the tighter curls much better. Do you have bangs? I would suggest an off-center part (or wherever you usually part your hair), pull back a bit of the top, and pouf it up. That’s actually how my hair was and I really liked it! You can kinda see it in this picture. I didn’t like the straight pull back either, I always need something around my face — maybe she can cut some layers in the front and you can have them curled and around your face?

My hair is really really hard to curl… so I’m not sure I can do the soft curls you have. I’m guessing a much bigger barrel could do the trick. I love the way that is pulled back though!
nope no bangs… (after a horrific experience trying to grow them out in middle school, I never turned back) I like your idea!
I don’t even know if I want the curls anymore… 🙁 I originally wanted my hair up but Fiance said something about liking my hair down… ugh I don’t even know any more…

I think the tighter curls look nicer, but I love love the first pic @SweetDeeReynolds:
posted, and you wouldn’t necessarily need bangs to pull it off. Given that your hair looks nice in curls, I think that’d be a great style to try out!

I think the tight curls look great, plus they’ll probably loosen a little over time. What about a side or middle part with a twist, like this?

I’m a big advocate of not fighting our hair’s natural instincts on the big day. Like for me, attempting to flat iron my hair straight would just be silly, as the pictures would reflect an ever-expanding/frizzing mane throughout the evening. If it will hold better up, then try it out that way. When you’re all gussied up with your dress and makeup your Fiance will think you are gorgeous whether your hair is up or down 🙂

I think the curls look very prom-y now. Even the looser ringlets are too tight, IMO. I think the looser, wavier styles that PP posted would be good if you still want curls. Don’t worry about Fiance saying he likes your hair down- he will think you look gorgeous no matter what. If your hair doesn’t hold curl well, I wouldn’t fight it on your wedding day (ie: the day where your hair will need to stay put for hours and you’ll have thousands of pictures taken).

If I do curls.. they’re going to have to be tight like shown.. Those curls she did… lasted ALLLLLLL day. They weren’t going anywhere. lol I’m contemplating an updo now. Ignoring what Fiance said about how he prefers my hair… and doing that. Anyone have suggestions for an updo that goes with this dress and a fingertip veil??
I’m liking this hair do

What about something like that?

Okay I changed my mind again… I really do like the curls (second pic) maybe with some bigger curls thrown in the mix. And I know they’re goint to stay put. We’re just going to have figure out a way to pull it back and get stuff framing my face. I’m leaning towards a parted pull back (straight back just isn’t me)… and we’re researching now! I did find this lovely pic of scarlette that I adore. Maybe we’ll be able to incorporate this look in with my curls in the back!
