I just think it needs more height at the crown, and the actual braid needs a more “pulled apart” look. Maybe try a texturizer? Then it might hold better since it looks like you have very smooth hair!

@heathuhhhhwebbbb:  you definitely need extensions. Like… a lot of them. Have her curl your hair beforehand, and then tease it to insanity. I actually love your inspiration pic, because it seems to really fit your style and personality. Yes, it’s a high-fashion/editorial look, but I say go for it. Your bangs also need to be softer, and parted.

To be honest, I’d go back and have her do it another time. If there’s anything I’ve learned in corporate event planning, it’s that you better see a damn good and nearly perfect sample of work before hiring someone. Don’t bank on her promising she’ll do it right the day of. You could be stuck with a horrible disappointment.

Think about it this way – would you hire a baker who made a “meh” cake but said, “oh I promise I’ll add more sugar when I make your real cake!” Uhm, nope.

I think with a fishtail it will look “messy” enough without trying so hard. You can barely even tell it is a fishtail braid. More volume and less hair left out would look great.

The inspiration pic is purely for a magazine and will not travel well in real life.
