I’m not a hairdresser, but I usually tip 20-25%. I try to remember to bring cash to tip so I don’t have to put it on my credit card, but sometimes I forget.

Not a hairdresser, but I always heard 20% was “correct” for beauty/salon services. I always aim for 20 and then round up.

I didn’t vote in the poll because I think 20 percent is a good tip, but 11 percent is not and they are lumped together.

I would say 20%.  Maybe more if it’s something more exceptional or out of the norm service wise, then I’m sure they’d appreciate it

I calculate 20% and then round up to the easiest value (for example if 20% is $38.54 I’ll pay $40) So I usually tip between 20-25% if it’s a small bill I tip more, like when I go in to get my bang strimmed for $15, I’ll pay $20, which is 33.5%.

    I am a Hairdresser

I think 20-30% Is good, depending on the service. example

If i do a Color/Cut blowdry  which would come out to around 115 I get tipped anywhere from 20-25

Now if it’s Higlights/Color/cut it can range anywhere from 175-225 and I do get tipped anywhere from 20-50

as for knowing which clients are “goodtippers” We might know which clients do. but I know I do not judge. It’s hard right now and Some of my clients might be going through some ruff times or are still in school. I just appreciate them coming back to me:)

also If you do leave the tip with the receptionist they should get it. I always get my tips or at least I like to think I do:). We also have a envelope tip jar where you can write your name and your stylist name Not sure if they have that at your salon. Or you can even leave the money at your stylist station. I have had clients come up to me and hand me the money.

    Hope this helped
