I spent $40 on hair trial. The actual hair will be $40 as well, and I’m doing my own makeup.

@MissBatman:  oh hey! I know you – well, I know your sister – we were sorority sisters.

    Small world.

Anyway, I’m using Emily Miller (search for her on FB). She’s super inexpensive for the area. Trials are $50 each for hair and/or makeup, and day-of bridal makeup is $85 (includes falsies and airbrush), and day-of bridal hair is $75. Travel/booking fee is $75 flat.

BMs/Moms/etc are $55 each for hair and/or makeup.

I know two gals who have used her and they looked freaking amazing. She’s really nice, too.

There are definitely a lot of StL makeup/hair people who charge WAY more – Emily has some of the best prices I’ve seen.

@MissBatman:  I spent more than I wanted.. I originally found a MUA at the bridal show.. He charged $150 for day of wedding including trial.. When trial came I had to pay half $75.. my trial makeup was awful.. I cried for a few minutes because my bridal shower was that day. So I had to fix my makeup.. Anyways I cancelled with him and found a new MUA that charged $150 also and included trial.. So happy I found her, she was great. But I ended up paying $225 for just makeup.

Totally depends on where you live.

In PA, I could get my hair and makeup done for $70 total.

Here in DFW, it would START at that if you’re lucky. In this area, you could easily pay $200-$400 for just your own hair and makeup depending on the salon, artist or stylist.

I would go to several places in your area and get quotes, but more importantly, check out portfolios. Be very wary of any “pro” without at least a small one.

I paid $40 for my hair trial, $50 for my wedding day hair and $30 for my makeup. I felt this was very reasonable and I was thrilled with their work!
