Hey guyS! So I guess I just need some reassurance that everything will be fine! my ceremony starts at 5:30. My hair will be finished around noonish and then My makeup will need to be done by 3:15 (at the hotel) for photos of me getting into my dress so the photographer can then leave and go to the venue and shoot the detail pictures , groom/groomsmen photos and the groom with just his family(parents/ step patents/half siblings lots of photos there) photos before the ceremony. My plan is after we do my “mock “everyone getting me dressed and ready photos to take my dress off because otherwise I will have to be waiting in it for an hour, she said I could take it off have some champagne and just relax before the ceremony(I like that idea!) Here’s where I’m being a weirdo, will it be ok for my hair and make up to be completely done 2 hours before the ceremony even starts? For some reason I thought (before any logic was put to it by my great photog:) that I would be finishing my makeup right before the ceremony started and my hair not long before that. Anyone else been fully primped that long before the ceremony and it be ok? Thanks for any input!

I actually think it would be a really bad idea to finish hair/makeup just before you leave for the ceremony. Because that stuff often takes longer than you think. So it’s a good idea to build in a cushion. And having a glass of champagne during that cushion sounds good to me!
ETA: I did several makeup trials to ensure that my makeup would last all day. I put mine on at 1:00, had ceremony at 5:00, and partied until midnight and I never had to even touch up!

@Italiandoll: I agree with PP- it does take longer than you think. To be honest- because our timeline was off, we missed out on A LOT of pics I wish we would have gotten.
You need to have your hair and makeup done that long before.
I had this “genius” idea to have it done at the last minute- and because my BM’s messed up, and things take longer than you think- bad idea. I also would not suggest taking your dress off after you have it on- hanging out in your dress is not that big of a deal- and that hour will pass WAY faster than you think. I promise. And I know you’ve probably heard it a million times. I thought I was going to be the “magical” bride who would be able to slow time on her wedding day. I barely remember any of it-
Your makeup and hair are going to last.

@JenGirl: thank you! my hair is fine and can have a mind of its own with certain hairstyles, especiLly curls, I plan for my hair trial to get it done at around 10 am and then see how long it will last from there. I do makeup for weddings and can touch my own makeup up if I need to but I’m really trying to just leave it in the people I’m hirings hands and I’m a control freak so easier said then done lol

@MrsEME: thank you so much! This is true , especially with me leaving time for other people, my Bridesmaid or Best Man ps can be flakes lol and I do want to make sure we get all those pics done ahead of time so there’s less time after the wedding we are shooting pics!

That’s ideal! You don’t want to have to rush out to get married.
