Hi Bees…I’ve got myself into a bit of a last minute situation here. Because I’m wearing my hair mostly down and also wearing a veil, I had never considered hair accessories. Now I’m down to just over two weeks to go and want a haircomb or hair pin to put in the back of my hair once the veil is removed for the reception. I have long curly hair and will be wearing it pulled back away from face, but still down and loose in back. I’m looking online and can’t decide how big of a pin or comb I should order (they vary from about 2×1/2 inch to 4×3 inches. Any of you have pics from an accessory at the BACK of your hair (not side), with hair down? I’d love to see for reference.
Also, pins vs combs…thoughts? My brother is doing my hair and suggested a pin when I asked him yesterday, but my veil has a comb so couldn’t the accessory’s comb just replace the veil’s comb?
Also, my dress is a very warm ivory over light gold (so gold accessories make sense), however it has a built-in jeweled silver belt (so silver accessories also make sense). Because I wanted to wear my grandmother’s necklace which is yellow gold, all my jewelry will be yellow gold. For the hair accessory, you think I should match the rest of my jewelry or match the silver belt of the dress (since the accessory will only be seen from the back where you won’t really see my earrings or necklace)?
