I don’t have any picures, but my friend got married in Mexico, on the beach with curls and 1/2 up 1/2 down and it was fine. The curls did fall out a bit, but it didn’t look bad. And because the front part was pulled back and the veil was in place, she didn’t really have any issues of it blowing in her face, and she has REALLY long hair. Like almost to her waist. So if that’s what you want, go for it!! Just spray the hell out of those curls!

I eloped on the beach in Hawaii and wore my hair half up with curls and a flower crown. I secured it with a lot of hairspray and bobby pins but it mostly stayed out of my face, even in the wind (and it was pretty windy). The curls held! But my hair holds curl pretty well.

The pic below is from AFTER the wedding, photos and going out to dinner. Pardon the selfie, I don’t have professional pics that show the back of my hair yet! As you can see the curls loosened up a bit but it still looked good.

bre3 :  I’m having the same concerns with my tropical destination wedding. You’re braver than me! I’ve given up and am either going to do a loose side braid or a side bun. I don’t want to risk it. This is mostly based in past experience with my hair already not holding curls well.

I’m also doing a ballgown. I’d love to see what your dress looks like!
