violet182:  Both are to die for! But yeah I’d probably spend $500k toward a nice home before spending it on a piece of jewelry. Glad you guys love your ring! I love mine to death and I never want to upgrade to anything bigger or nicer (so I say now, hehe).

they’re gorgeous, the markup is because of the Tiffany name, and not 100% an objective markup based on quality.

i would’t spend that much on principle, but if the white diamond one weren’t an ascher (it looks like an ascher anyway) and wasn’t marked up for being tiffany i’d totally rock it!

I think the rings are absolutely stunning, but anyone who pays that for those is out of their mind.  You can get an entire collection of giant yellow diamond sparklers for that kind of $.

Diamonds are instrinsically worthless. The De Beers company created a marketing campaign in the 1930’s that tied diamond rings to engagements, it was never much a thing prior to that except for the wealthy.

This company owns the majority of diamonds in the world and diamonds are not as rare as they make them out to seem.

I wouldn’t even want something that expensive on my hand, you know how dangerous that is? I’d probably die from stress and anxiety.

I love the yellow diamond ring and would totally spend $500,000 on jewellery if I could afford to.

violet182:  Cool! I have to agree, they wouldn’t be worth quite that much to me either. There’s a sweet spot with diamonds, I think, where the size looks big enough and the price looks small enough. It’s different for everybody.

Buuut, if I was a billionaire… I would consider a rock like that… Yes, I would.
