GOOD LUCK!!! Just remember, its about crossing the finish ilne more than your pace so stop at water stations, walk when you need to, and just listen to your body.

And when you are done come back here and post how it went!!

Key to hydration: DRINK AT EVERY SINGLE HYDRATION STATION!!  Even if you’re carrying your own water/gatoraide, you should always take a cup from the water stations.  Half-marathons are hard, but keep your mental game going.  Maybe make a list of phrases to tell yourself at each mile marker.  (I ran a marathon, and I wore an armband with my phrases, but you could keep them in your fanny pack or your camelbak or whatever.)  Also remember not to go too fast in the beginning.  All that adrenaline will sometimes make people run faster than they should for the first several miles.  Keep your pace, and just keep your head in it!

GOOD LUCK!

Good luck!  You will do fine because of all your training.  I ran my first half last September and I recommend stopping to grab some water at every stop.  They had gu for us at mile 8 and I had that as well.  Don’t push yourself and start out slowww.  Are you running the Boston race tomorrow?  A lot of my friends are doing it tomorrow and have been training for months!

How exciting!!!!  It’s supposed to be hot tomorrow so be sure to wear shorts and a tank.  I recommend peeing right before you start too (sorry tmi for some).  I had a 1/2 banana and 1/2 bagel with peanut butter before the race and chugged water.  I highly recommend eating a balanced meal in the morning and also giving yourself enough time in the morning to get ready and relax.  Best of luck again!

So exciting, good luck!! Don’t go out too fast, even though it’s tempting with all those runners around you.  Try to relax and enjoy yourself, you’re going to do great!

Wooohoooo!! Congratulations in advance! Just remember to pace yourself and not to avoid the drink handouts. I get so excited after I get water after water and then out of nowhere someone hands me a gatorade!!! I have no idea if you like gatorade, but just in case I hope you get one so you can feel reenergized πŸ™‚ Let us know how it goes! Have fun!

Congrats on finishing! Boy was it hot at the beginning but cooled slightly around mile 6 but then just got hot! I wasn’t as trained as I could have been so I just wanted to finish the thing. It was such a beautiful run! Come mile 10 though, I saw a guy down and ran over to see if he needed help- this messed up my time but I really didn’t care. I think he was just dehydrated. I left as soon as a couple trained people were there. So this was a different sort of race for me. But it felt great finishing!!! I’m so sore today! πŸ™‚

CONGRATS! I don’t have any races planned- just focusing on wedding stuff. Five more weeks and that’s why I’m on this forum. Going a bit crazy! πŸ™‚

Good luck!
