You look so cute, I’m just a few weeks away from 1/2 way there ๐Ÿ™‚

When I first looked at the picture of you, your dress blended in with that giant plant holder (??) behind you and I thought “Whoa, she’s huge!” but then I looked again and realized that wasn’t your stomach lol, you look adorable!

So cute! And I have something to say about your worry and exhaustion.

I am a worry wart like you. Except I worry so much that if I write all of my to do’s down in a planner it actually freaks me out more. So I can’t do that.

Im 17 weeks along and at 10 weeks I found out I had gestational diabetes. Which, really, isn’t all that bad. But it was a shock to me and I still cry about it sometimes. I’m not overweight. Im not unhealthy. I have no other risks whatsoever except that now.

the dietitian and the nurse/doctor all told me this: follow this extremely strict diet, do this finger pricking four times a day, walk/slow exercise and all will be fine except if #1 you exercise too much and get your blood sugar to spike because your heart is going to fast and #2 you don’t manage your stress.

That was a big wake up call to me. The more you stress the more you are countering your effort to actually relax.

The only physical baby stuff I’ve done is sew a rocking chair cover and shop online. My husband gets the mail when something bought online comes in the mail. He puts the entire room together, organizes, plans and actually babies me through it all. I hate it and it’s awful! I feel so useless but I realized that any pregnant woman is working overtime to build a baby inside her body. And that’s enough to get her pretty tired out. And any other health risk on top of it and guess what?!? That’s even worse for a pregnant lady! I have an actual reason for concern for my baby and many woman do. And trust me if the doctors find it or anything comes up they will be all over you and that baby more than you ever thought they could.

Stop worrying. Stop “doing enough” for preparing for your baby. And sit down. Set a timer for two hours and do nothing. Read a gossip magazine, book, binge watch the bachelor and eat whatever you want on your bed/couch/chair for that two hours.

oh and my “exercise” is my every other day brisk one hour stroll through target. the days I don’t do that I walk two laps around our block. I’m pretty sure the target employees think I’m stealing stuff because I rarely buy anything when I go!

So anyway I hope my rant helped you. I’m on my two hour required rest right now and I love going online and doing things like this or being on Instagram, facebook or any etsy shops i can find haha!!!

seriously think about it. if you don’t put yourself on your own comfortable form of bed rest, and you over do it, then you WILL be put on bed rest but your doctor because the strain your are putting on your baby.

MrsRoberts52:  I used to be a worrywart, until one day a lightbulb went on in my head.

I was wasting an incredible amount of time and energy worrying about things, over which I had no control. Things are going to happen whether I worry about them or not. I made a conscious decision to quit surrounding myself with negativity.

You look awesome!!!

As far as the stressing goes….I find that practicing yoga helps a lot. Meditation and affirmations as well. I am starting hypnobirthing classes next month so I have the CD already and listening to it, as well as repeating those affirmations to myself, help a great deal.

For the stress of things going wrong with the pregnancy, as long as your are treating your body well and being healthy, everything else is out of your control. The one thing that is in your control, is how you respond to everything. I would start making daily affirmations every morning that you trust your body and your baby and you know everything will be fine. It sounds cheesy but eventually your subconscious will start to believe it!

I had/have some pretty serious pregnancy-induced anxiety.  It’s so hard to come down from that physical spiraling once it gets going. Some things to maybe try:

Journaling. My dr suggested that taking just five mins a night to write out whatever’s in my head could be immensely helpful. I’ll admit I didn’t actually do this but I’ve used it in the past and found it to be helpful.

Breathing: particularly when I feel my heart rate getting away from me. Sit w your eyes closed and limbs limp. Deep breathe in and think “I am” and then exhale slowly and think “relaxed”. It’s actually hard to stay ramped up when you’re repeating “I am relaxed” over and over.

Acupuncture : I was really sceptical but it’s working wonders for a back problem I’m having and I recently asked her to add some anxiety points. So far, it seems to really be helping.
