Overlays and table runners can help.  Also, colored centerpieces will help break up the white on white on white look.

what about going with a wood chair?  they’re usually a lot cheaper than chivari, and about the same as chair covers (unless they’re included w/ your venue, of course).  something like this maybe?

If that doesn’t really go with your aesthetic, I second the PPs suggestion of using an overlay or runner to bring in some color.

overlays, colored napkins, table runners, and colorful centerpieces. Add colored chair sashes to break up the white, and if you can fit in in your budget, add some uplighting to change the color of the room dramatically.

I was also going to suggest overlays or table runners.

I’m sort of in the same situation, so I have decided on table runners for the head table. Then I will have overlays on the cake & gift table. And then the centerpieces for colour on the guest tables.

I agree with uplighting.

Also, do you have room in your budget to purchase linens? I was really shocked by the price of rentals. I purchased linens for less $$ than what the rental companies wanted. I’ll sell them eventually to recoup some funds.

I purchased from – http://www.wholesalespecialtylinens.com/ (no affilation for the record) and was really happy with their service and the product. I purchased the Crepe Back Satin Linens in a silvery gray color, along with a beaded overlay for the cake table and head table (just to make them a little different). There was a code – I found them here on the bee.

Or you could purchase some fabric and make runners or overlays. It seems fairly simple, if someone has some sewing skill. You could even use that iron on no-sew tape.

I think a pop of color or pattern on the tables would make the biggest difference.

Are chair covers included in your venue rental? If not and you are renting them separately, then I agree with the above about going with the wooden chairs. Even white wooden chairs would help.

Do you have to have white linen? My hall is providing the option to have black linen, which is definitely what I’m going with!

Overlays and or table runners. We went with runners because it fit our budget better..,. put sashes or whatever on the chairs to break up all the white..

Overlays, table runners or even changing the napkins to your wedding colors will bring out more color in the room.  Our hall venue offers too black or white, we went with white and are putting a runner and colored napkins on the tables.  As a practice set up it looked great! Good luck!

smartyhadaparty has cheap linens for sale as well as disposable ones. We are going that route.

@Ivanna: Linentableclothes.com also has overlays and table covers for about $4. I just recieved the ones for my wedding yesterday and they are great!
