We are dressing as Gandalf and either Frodo or Gimli from Lord of the Rings, I think. Danny is like a million feet tall and I’m 5’3 so it works, haha.

uhmmm…hmmm…we’ve previously done a giant shark and a zombie swimmer/snorkler. That got good reviews. And the big bad wolf and red riding hood, people liked that, too…zombie Kennedy and zombie Marilyn? Lol, as you can tell, I like zombies a lot, haha. You could always do a movie monster and a starlet of some sort.

I don’t know, are there any tv shows or movies you like that have couples in it?

I always try really hard to do something different and have really ran out of ideas this year. But some of the ones we have done that stand out were:

Office Space: He was Lumbergh and I was Jennifer Anniston’s character with the green & white stripped shirt and my flare – this was my favorite!

Pilot & 50s Flight Attendant

English Bobbies

The Dude and Maude from the Big Lebowski

And a one very politically incorrect one that I don’t want to post about ๐Ÿ˜‰ Oh and I never buy pre-made costumes, all of these were made from thrift store items.

The best costume Fiance and I did was Clarence and Alabama from True Romance … it was perfect and we pulled it off quite well (and cheaply too!)

I’ve posted these before somewhere here in WB, but I figured I’d post them again.

We make our costumes every year from either things we already own, or a trip to Goodwill.  It’s SO much fun creating our costumes every year.  Here are 3 of my favorites:

Mario and Princess Peach:

This one shows off my awesome ’80s prom dress I revamped:

The Devil and his assistant:

Last year we were Lil’ Red and the Big Bad Wolf (I made the hood out of handstitching a $1 curtain from Goodwill!):

Yay! I love Halloween.

Here are a few of the best couples costumes we’ve done/our friends have done:

Drew Carey and an over zealous Price is Right fan

Red Riding Hood and the Wolf (a better twist was when our friends did the same, but he dressed as the wolf dressed as a grandma in an old nightshirt)

The Wet Bandits from Home Alone (this was actually my Fiance and another male friend, but it remains one of the best costumes!)

Wayne and Garth from Wayne’s World

…I know I must have more, I’ll think on it today.

ETA – just saw that it doesn’t have to be a couples theme…so now I’ll think about other things as well lol

We did literary characters: Hunter S. Thompson (fear and Loathing in Las Vegas style) and Ramona Flowers (Scott Pilgrim.)  His costume was khaki shorts and a Hawaiian shirt with tube socks and loafers plus a cheap pair of yellow sunglasses and a green plastic visor.  Mine was a black leather jacket, blue wig, hot pink shorts, purple tights, black t-shirt and studded belt with tall black boots.  We were both very comfortable since we were wearing real clothes.  Plus, he loved that I was wearing a wig.  This year we are doing Cyclops and Emma Frost.

Not a very good picture but you get the idea.

We are going as The Green Monkey’s from Legends of the Hidden Temple, an old school show on Nickelodeon.  Simple and inexpensive

My friends and I once went to a club-party dressed as murder victims from different decades.  We got to wear gorgeous dresses and just had a talented friend to bloody-us-up a bit.  I don’t have photos, but I went as a 1940s Glamourpuss who was shot in the head by the mob.  I wore a long velvet dress, long satin gloves, had my hair in waves and a tidy bullethole in the centre of my forehead.
