SoontobeMrsStanley:  You can use all the familiar elements- just use them in an elegant manner

you could use these for a guestbook- have your guests sign on the back of a bat, then pin the bat to a canvas

Another option would be to do it all in black and white

I always love when Halloween brides use the Corpse Bride theme! Im having a Christmas wedding and found A LOT of amazing ideas from Pinterest.  Halloween can be elegant.  Below is a perfect halloween bouquet – dark but elegant – from Pinterest!   I thought the saying “Love at First Bite” was a cute saying you could incorporate on invites or something.

Oh man I love this. Halloween is absolutely my favorite holiday. I will not be having a Halloween wedding for the sole reason that I’m worried the anniversary celebration would at some point override the yearly Halloween parties we throw!

PLEASE keep us posted on your progress with this. My ideas off the top of my head (PM me if you want the gigantic Halloween pinterest I’ve got tucked away):

1) Lanterns and lots of them. Candles too (safely of course)

2) A fun activity would be a pumpkin carving contest

3) If you don’t want to go black wedding dress all the way, a black veil or maybe a black tinge to the tip of your dress could be pretty amazing

4) Deep purples done right are Halloweeny too, and a little more classy if not put everywhere. Don’t go too orange. Silver accents (candleholders, chairs, etc) can be your friend.

5) There are so many danceable Halloween relatable songs. Here’s just one playlist of lots of Halloween songs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQXVHITd1N4&list=RDAQXVHITd1N4

6) Oh my god, favors. Eyeball soap? Ghost meringues? Candy bar? So many options!

7) Drink ideas are all over Pinterest. Warm cider (hard or otherwise) is always welcome on October 31st. There is a thread about how to keep cider warm for a wedding on WeddingBee – search for it (I believe the winning idea is a copper kettle at the moment).

8) For a backdrop, you could do a thick black tissue paper backdrop (I’m thinking something like this http://ruffledblog.com/diy-paper-flower-backdrop/) or bats. Or hung lanterns at various heights (assuming there’s a place to hang them).

9) Keep the food classy (i.e.: no witches fingers as a main course). Some nice lamb with a salad is very nice for examble.

10) To keep it classy, probably keep balloons out of it.

11) What would be cool is if you had a sign at the entrance that looked like an old graveyard entrance, but actually said “Jane and Tarzan’s Wedding” (http://www.halloweenforum.com/tutorials-and-step-by-step/134526-cemetery-arch-tutorial.html).

12) Centerpieces could be all white roses (or all red) with maybe one playful little plastic spider running through.

13) And for lucky #13, don’t worry too much about it being classy and have fun with it! Be sure to take some funny pictures with the wedding party.

I think that’s all I’ve got for now. Again, please keep us posted!
