- Wedding: October 2014 - Disney
Been a little quiet due to my husband (yes husband) and I trying to decide what to do about the celebration wedding. We looked at continueing with feb knowing our hearts werent there, our wallets pinched (was still doable just not in cash like original plans) due to my lay off, us possibly having to go into the hole with leave (thanks sequester), possibly not having my mom there (she looks to finally be getting a job after 3 years without a full time position), and numerous people weary about february weather, but this wasnt working logically. We looked into canceling but our hearts werent there and it was expensive think 10k in the hole and getting nothing. So we talked about it and wanted to go back to our original intention October with a third final move.
Here is the short end of the wedding fiasco:
1.We got engaged and wanted a spooky October wedding for 2013.
2. We had people find out it would be at Disney and essentially invite themselves. So we moved the wedding to february for our wallets to accomodate. We moved it to the weekend of the princess marathon. In stead of being excited about the wedding I had no motivation nor did my husband. We both had fiasco marriages that started 8 days exactly before or after this date.
3. In late may I was laid off. Fiance and I decided to have a quicky wedding. We told our families they understood everyone still wanted to attend our disney wedding.
4. Sequester happened we also had a wedding planning session planned. Numerous people were nervous about the Feb date due to weather, starting new jobs, etc. We decided we wanted to go all out but were worried we wont have the leave to attend our own wedding in feb if we get another shut down. We had no love for feb as it has a lot of bad vibes we ran past our bridal parties and family the idea of october and everyone said that suited us and their wallets better. We figured since this is a celbration of our vows not a standard wedding we want to have everything and give to our family and friends the best, plus celebrate with the celebration that is us not some fluff that isnt us.
Long story short the celebration wedding is now 10/30/14 and in 2 weeks after our shift finally entirely planned. Husband and I are actually excited about this wedding again! The reason for this is we both wanted a halloween wedding. Funny thing is the theme which I thought would shock others and this final move has really gone over well. Everyone loves it and says this truly is the celebration for us as a couple, we are the quirky sheep of our families.
So who here has had a halloween wedding? If you havent had one what are your thoughts.
I am super excited to do a halloween bash to celebrate! This is our favorite holdiay!
