- Wedding: October 2015 - Star Spangled Banner Flag House Museum
Fiance proposed on October 25, 2014 with a beautiful 1.01 carat oval diamond flanked by pear-shaped sapphires & round diamonds. Using information from conversations we had pre-engagement, he chose this ring all by himself which was a beautiful choice!
When he asked what I thought about the ring, I spoke my truth honestly & told him that I liked the ring and it was very beautiful, but I was kind of expecting a halo (since that is what we’d discussed previously). He wanted me to “love” the ring and we discussed returning to the jeweler to see if a halo could be added to the existing setting. The jeweler recommended creating a new setting altogether, since the original setting likely would not accommodate the addition of a new setting without crowding the sapphires.
We worked for 4+ weeks on designing a custom setting, paying particular detail to maintaining the characteristics of the original setting & today, I finally received the new ring! I was so excited all day, I felt like I was getting engaged all over again. FI loves the new ring & so do I, although my love for the ring pales in comparison to my love for the fabulous man that he is!
My old ring is on the left & the new one is on the right! Check ’em out! 🙂
