I have a halo ring with diamonds on the band. Personally, I love this look, but both looks are beautiful. It all depends on what you love and what you envision it to look like in the end when you choose a wedding ring to go along with it.

Although I love the look of diamond shanks, plain shank halos are beyond gorgeous. I’m drawn to the classic simplicity and the ease of wearing that ring daily. Plus, the clean shank really allows you to focus on your center stone.

I’m a fan of both plain shank and diamond shank. But if I had to chose one it would be a diamond shank. Although plain shanks have the comfort of a solitaire, I found it difficult to find a wedding band I liked to go with it.

bride2bride:  pros and cons (in my personal opinion)

plain band pros : easier to clean, classic and won’t look dated if the diamond band goes out of style, gives you more options for wedding bands that would match, easier to resize

diamond band pros : more bling, visually pleasing, very popular

Plain cons: very simple if you like more bling, you will notice any little scratches if they occur.

diamond band cons: potential for lost stones meaning more repairs and less time wearing the ring, needs more cleaning to stay looking bright, harder to resize

hope that helps! I’m also a little bias because I have a plain band halo, but these are the reasons I told my husband I wanted a plain band

I have a plain shank halo and I wear it solitaire style with a plain white gold band, and also with diamond stacking anniversary bands depending on my mood.

I think that because halos by are so blingy by nature and over the top (in a good way), they look better with plain shanks — generally speaking.

That’s only my opinion though. And of course there are exceptions. For example I love Mrs.SparkleBee’s split diamond shank halo and think that particular design would not look nearly as gorgeous with a plain split shank.

There really are no right or wrong answers, it just depends on each individual’s preference. I love halos both with plain or diamond shanks, it’s just that generally I prefer the plain shanks.

I have both a halo with a plain band, and a halo with a blingy band, and I like my blingy band one a little more.

I love both looks! I have diamonds on the shank, and I must say I love the way the little diamonds also catch the light.

This has also been a huge debate for me, I got the plain band and still wonder if I should’ve chosen diamond band. So I guess even if I chose the diamond band I would wonder if I should’ve picked plain. urggghh decisions decisions πŸ˜‚

I like both looks a ton! I personally would go for the diamond shank! (I very recently got engaged and I originally debated between solitaire or diamond shank too although not for a halo.) I think you should go with what you are drawn to the most! I also recommend trying both styles on your hand. Lastly would you be significantly sacrificing size/quality for the diamond band? Is upgrading your band in the future a possiblity? And does the company have any return policy incase you change your mind once you get it on your finger!
