I’m just wondering if what I have in mind actually exists? An (otherwise) plain band with a halo? I love halos, but every halo setting also seems to have pave diamonds, which I don’t really care for. My dream ring would be a plain, thin band with a cushion halo/center stone. If this doesn’t exist: why?

Sounds like my setting:
I got mine from a local jeweler but I have seen them on online realtailers like Briliant Earth and Blue Nile. My picture isn’t the best – the wedding band with it is a shared prong band.

@carolinabelle: i was wondering the same thing. my husband used my old ering and had a halo setting added onto it. but i know if you work with a good jeweler, they will work with you to find whatever you want.

Yes, they are out there. They aren’t as common though. I love bling, but my current e-ring and wedding band are solid diamonds and I want to add some metal into the mix. I’m thinking of getting a halo with a plain shank (band with no diamonds). We actually already have the diamond and a plain white gold wedding band, so what we may do is just take it all to a jeweler and have them add the halo. Not sure yet.
I think they are just gorgeous! Here is one on Blue Nile. If you click on the video button you can see what it would look like with a center stone added.
In the meantime, I ordered a pretty “dummy ring” on E-bay to get an idea of what it will look like. Supposedly it is white sapphire and gold filled band (or so the seller says) … It was only $10 including shipping and looks gorgeous IRL!

@carolinabelle: Yes, they are out there! I know Gabriel & Co. has some. Their ring design is what my fiance designed my ring around!

A halo on a plain band is my favorite style!!! That’s what I picked too 😉 But I went for a double halo, vintage style setting. I had the shank remade from the original ring, and had the option of adding stones but absolutely didn’t want to. It’s classy with a metal shank. And I added sparkle with my wedding band 😉
