It’s funny – I received my halo engagement ring before it became popular to have one! I chose it because halo rings are vintage and unique, compared to most solitare settings. I just wanted a ring that didn’t look like all the other solitares with pave out there.
The nice thing about halos is that each one has its own, unique look. My husband and I just fell in love with the look.
I like halos because I just find solitaires boring. I didn’t want a ring that looked like everyone’s elses.
i have a double halo. my center stone is a yellow diamond then i have a halo of yellow diamonds another halo of diamonds and side diamonds as well. love it.
My preference is: solitaire w/ plain band > halo > solitaire w/ pave band
Not to say that any are bad, I like them all! π I think your diamond is a really nice size for a solitaire though
Ah the good old debate on solitaire versus halo…FUN!
I started looking for rings without having done any research online. I had never been interested in wedding rings (now I am obsessed with those beauties!) but I had certainly noticed solitaires. I was instantly attracted to halos!!! Love at first sight π I love some detail and complexity to a ring I look at everyday. I find solitaires too simple for my taste, but I find them gorgeous on other people’s hands. Also, I think it’s great you can get more finger coverage by having a circle of diamonds around a center stone. It does bring down the cost, which is great!
Here’s my double halo with a 0.33 center stone. I wanted something vintage inspired and substantial π I wear a small halo ring on my right hand.
I love both halos and solitaires. I actually do not really like the look of solitaire with two side stones, personally- not sure why.
I have a halo, and I love it because it looks vintage, old-fashioned, and romantic to me. But, I think it’s all about personal preference- you need to get something you absolutely LOVE!
I love my halo. To me, the halo added extra decoration so it wasn’t just an ordinary solitaire. I wanted something more unique. Plus most people like solitaires anyways because you can get enhancers for them and make them into a new ring which in the end, makes their rings no longer solitaires…
I wanted fancy and unique. so I got something with a design
P.S. A solitare is just one stone on a band, a stone with two side stones is a three-stone ring.
Let me throw in a variant – halo with a colored gemstone? Classic, antique-looking, and the halo makes the colored stone just pop. Takers?
I have a solitaire with side stones but love a halo. Fiance would have picked a plain solitaire but added the side stones for me because I like more bling than he does.
totally in love with my blingy halo! I’d say it’s just about as trendy as diet coke π
