Have you gone to try one on? You probably won’t get a ton of answers. That’s a very detailed request.

You might have better luck looking at the 2ct+ threads and trying to find something similar and ask about ring size

I’m a size 5 ring too and I tried on some 2ct rings and they really did look kinda gawdy on my finger so instead I went with something a little over 1ct but with a really good color and clarity. I don’t have a halo but I think that if a halo were added around my stone it would still be fine on my finger.

I have a size 5 finger and I have a halo ring that the center stone is 2 carats. I will take some pictures of it tonight and post them. It seems like if I went .25 carats bigger it would be too big. I think its the perfect size without looking gawdy, IMO.

Hey, I have a 2.5 carat engagement ring and a size 4 finger. They actually said I should have went down to a 3 and 3/4 but I wanted to be safe. I’m not going to lie it is pretty big. When I first got it I almost died (wondering if he never saw how small my hands are) but now its ok, but I’m sure this is just because I am getting used to it, good luck

Are you talking about a 2 carat center stone with a halo or 2 carat total weight halo?

I have a size 5 finger and tried on a 2 carat round solitaire before. It was beautiful and looked great, but just felt too big for me. We chose a 1.25 carat instead. I think if I had a 2 carat with a halo it I wouldn’t feel comfortable unless the setting was very low and perhaps bezel set. But a 2 carat total weight halo (for example, my 1.25 stone with a halo around it) would look very nice and not feel too bulky, in my opinion. You should definitely find a jeweler and try one on, as your comfort level may completely differ from mine. Especially depending on the shape of stone you get! A 2 carat asscher looks much smaller than a 2 carat round afterall! ๐Ÿ™‚

A 2 ct WITH halo will be one large piece of bling, I have a 1ct halo on a size 5 ring finger and in my opinion I would not go bigger (just what I like) but if you do be sure to post a picture I’m sure it’ll be awesome and I want to see it!

I’ll post mine to give you a little idea size wise vs a size 5 finger (I think I’m actually a 4.75 but I don’t want to get it resized AGAIN and with a band, it should be perfect)

I have a 2 carat diamond in a halo setting and my finger is a size 3. It looks really big, so if that’s not your style then you should definitely consider going smaller. I made sure to get a halo setting with really small delicate diamonds and it isn’t set too high so it just looks like I have a 2.5 or 3 carat ring.

For me though, before I had it reset to a halo, it was a solitaire and the 2 carats weren’t nearly too much stone for me, so I knew getting a halo would be fine. It fits my overall lifestyle and honestly when it doesn’t I just wear my wedding band.

I honestly think any more than a carat on a size 5 finger will look gaudy if you want a halo. 2 carats is probably bigger than you’re thinking it is

I have a size 5 (well really 4 3/4 but my ring is a size 5) and my ering is a 3 ct. princess cut diamond. It doesn’t look too big at all, IMO…I agree with other posters on going to try rings on though, because it all depends on what you like, what kind of cut the stone is, what the setting is, etc.

I agree with trying it on! I was surprised how stubby my fingers looked with larger rings.

I think it sounds amazing.  It really just depends on the look you’re comfortable with.  People notice my ring and say it’s “big” (it’s 3 ct total weight w/ solitaire and side diamonds) and I think to myself, “Oh, there is some room for upgrading in the future!”  I wear a size 5.  Just an example of difference of opinion ๐Ÿ™‚
