Ladies can you post your pics so I can see for my reference? It’d really help 🙂
We don’t have Jewellers with wide selection to try like that 🙁 so we only get to see how it looks when they are actually designing a ring for us. That being said I have a .65 carat stone that looks big on me and was putting a halo around that. But was considering getting a bigger yellow sapphire centre stone and thought hmm would 2carat be too big? I have loose czs that I bought but seeing them loose at that size doesn’t give me the halo vision 🙁 so though I think it looks decent I’m not sure how it would actually look with a halo -around it.
I go to my jeweller today to see my halo mock up for my .65 center stone so I’ll take a pic and post for you ladies 🙂

Ok so I went to the jeweller, this is a mock up so I hope you’re able to envision it, this is my stone set with 1.5mm stones and it’s taking up A LOT of my finger, maybe it’s cause of the size surrounding stones he’s using? He said the setting is measuring 10mm right now and that he will be able to make it a little smaller when he’s setting the actual stones.

I think another consideration is finger length (“piano fingers”). My sister’s ring size is about 4.25 and a 3 ct solitaire looked too small (proportionately) on her hand because of her long, slender fingers. Her Fiance thought she was BS’ing him and trying to get a larger stone but even he admitted it looked a little puny.

http://www.bluenile.com/diamonds/diamond-carat-weight print out their pdf (cut them out and stick on your finger for a better idea!). Keep in mind that the exact proportions of the one you get may be different. But this is a good starting point to determine what size you’d think looks good. Then you can figure out what size halo you want to throw on.

Mine is 2 c. and I have a size 5 finger. Actually I’m a size 4 but my knucle is a 5. (annoying) There’s also something like .3 c on the sides, but it’s hard to see in this picture. I don’t think it’s too big, but my fingers are long. Sometimes I think it’s too “high” but I can’t complain. I love it. (sorry about the large picture, I don’t know why this picture won’t resize)

Mine is not quite a 2 carat, but a 1.75 RB with a halo, 2.6 TCW and my ring size is a 4.75.

It will also depend on what shape center stone you are looking into because the finger coverge will look different.
Here is my 2.05 carat Oval diamond with .56 carat halo. My ring is sized at 5.25 to get over my knuckle but I am a size 5. Sorry these are cell phone pictures.
