I am in love with one of the Tacori Pave Set Halo styles (the Dantela Pave 2620). I know that my bf wants to upgrade my rock on our 5 or 10 year wedding anniversary.(we are poor now and have to use a family diamond but he wants to get me a nicer stone one day when he finishes his residency, etc). If I were to ever upgrade, I would want to keep the original setting for sentimental purposes. My question is this: would having a halo setting prevent me from getting a bigger stone placed in that setting later on?

I would ask a jeweler they should be able to give advice on this.

I almost bought the 2620 myself but changed at the last minute to the 2639.
Yes for the Tacori settings they come in different sizes and are made to fit each stone. If you were to upgrade the stone then you would need to have a new setting made. If the basket is made for a 1 carat stone, there is no way to have a 1.5 carat fit into the basket in the future.
The tacori 2620 prices changes as the diamond size gets bigger too. I believe it’s about a $300 change each time you incrase the size but this depends on whether you have platinum or white gold too.
However, you can upgrade the clarity and color of the stone. Just may not be able to change the size too much. It would need to be of equal size that it was originally intended.
