Love my halo!! Mine was custom as I wasn’t a fan of micro pave on me. I like the bigger stones with no stones on the sides. I have really small hands so I was afraid it would look too much but my center stone is .77. Any bigger and I think it would have been that too much look I feared. I think halos can be gorgeous but as some have said not all tickle my fancy. I have come to love solitaries a little more since joining the Bee but I’m still a lover of all things vintage and flowery!!

schmeckpepper:  your ring is stunning!  If I were going to go with any other shape, it would look just like yours! One of my favorite rings I’ve seen!

LondonAutumn:  I love the vintage look of your ring.  Do you mind sharing what color your center is?

They’re pretty! I prefer a more clean and simple style for my fine jewelry, but I love halos on others’ rings!

emd014:  Thanks so much!!! I have always loved pears. somehow captured my heart at a young age! I love your custom ring too! I think that there are halos that are timeless because like yours they are styles from long ago.

Hate. (Well, not a fan. But that wasn’t an option.) Fiance dislikes them too so there was no chance I was getting one! I think they’re too trendy and everyone has one, and I think theyre often just used to make a small ring look bigger than it is. I’ve seen plenty that I do like, but at the end of the day they just aren’t for me. Love halos on earrings though!

Honestly I think that the reason why we see so much debate about this subject now a days is because of the ability to custom make rings more easily now. We tend to have more choices solitare, halo, art deco, etc. A lot of people want to be unique also, thats why Jewelers try so hard to accomodate so we can all have something “special” to us. I dont think one style or another is “Trendy”. I think all the styles come, go and come back again, and so it will be as long as engagement rings are still a tradition that hangs around.

I wanted a unique ring, so we went the custom route. Each ring that I’d picked when we went to brick and mortar stores had a halo, so I knew it would be in the design. I just thought solitaires were too plain on my finger. I think people would have been shocked if I did get a solitaire because I’m pretty eccentric lol! My ring doesn’t suit everyone’s tastes, but good thing the only taste that matters when it comes to my ring is mine 🙂 DH could care less about ring styles, he just wants me to be happy with it. The only thing he took a stand on was it had to be genuine, natural diamond.

Also, my halo is not to make my center stone look bigger. My center stone is substantial enough on its own which is why the diamonds in my halo are so small. I didn’t want them to compete with my center stone, I just wanted them for the style aspect. As many other bees stated, I don’t know many people IRL who have halos. I only have two friends that do, and one has a 3 stone Neil Lane ring with halos and one has a princess cut center diamond and her halo has large round diamonds which gives way more finger coverage (I personally don’t like those types of halos). All 3 of our halos are very different. Most folks I know have princess cut soiltaires or princess cut 3 stone rings.

I love mine. I don’t believe my particular style of halo is trendy, only because I’ve never seen another like it. It’s beautiful and my DH picked it out himself.

bleubirdxo:  I’m generally not a big fans of halos, at least for myself but this ring is gorgeous. I’m in love with dainty rings. The band is lovely and thin with a halo to match.

I think halos look beautiful in pictures, but on my finger, I think the diamond got lost. However, I love halos with colored stones, as all the stones then stand out, and I want one for RHR!!!!

Love halos, especially petite ones. Definitely always drawn to them.
