Not to alarm you, but I would schedule an appointment with your doctor immediately. There was recently a bee with an ectopic that started exactly like this. I will try to dig up the thread. Basically, if it’s the same scenerio, it meant you conceived last cycle, and therefore the bleeding (eg. what you considered to be AF) may indicate a problem. Fingers crossed all is fine, but I would absolutely be going to a medical professional in this case.

Is it possible your AF was not really AF?  My guess is that you are pregnant from last cycle, and your blood test was too early/false negative, followed by some kind of other bleeding.  (implantation/SCH/cervix/i dunno)  I would go get checked to make sure all is well, but congrats, it looks like you’re pregnant!

Boxerlover24 :  I agree with  littlebuzz :.  I’d demand a blood test because the timing just doesn’t make sense.  I’d want to rule out any issues.

I’m sorry I don’t want to worry you, but this just has too many parallels with this bee’s experience:

I don’t want to make guesses on what the bleeding could be, as that’s not useful for you, as I’m no doctor. But i would definitely be demanding more investigation at this point.

Boxerlover24 :  When I was about 5 weeks pregnant with my daughter, I woke up covered in blood one day (as if i had been attacked by a shark) and everything ended up being totally fine.  Weird stuff can happen and things can be fine.  But if you have bleeding again or pain or anything else out of the ordinary, I would make them see you, because of the possible risk as PP mentioned of ectopic.  If you do want to be seen sooner, I have found that if you use the phrase “I am pregnant and have been bleeding,” they fit you right in.  (At least my dr always did, with both my successful and unsuccessful pregnancies, both of which had bleeding)  If you feel comfortable waiting the 2 weeks, just be on the lookout for any other unusual symptoms.  Fingers crossed all goes well for you!

Again, I’m sorry – I don’t want to be that random person on the Internet that terrifies you, it’s just ringing alarm bells, and I couldn’t just say nothing – especially since we spoke a couple of weeks ago about your very faint FRERs.

As you can see from what other bees are saying – sometimes it’s nothing, but it’s definitely something any good doctor would want to investigate. It doesn’t sound like the person you spoke to on the phone is being very helpful or asking the right questions AT ALL.

If you say you had spotting last night too, that’s even more reason to get this checked out. It really does not make sense for it to be implantation bleeding as you already have a positive HPT. It also does not make much sense that you ovulated and implanted in the time since what you considered to be your last AF.

Good luck bee, and keep us updated.

It could be possible you ovulated early, but here is the math I am doing in my head.  OPKs turn positive if you are pregnant, so I am assuming the positive OPK on cycle day 10 indicated you were pregnant.  It takes 7-10+ days from ovulation for implantation/your body to know you are pregnant.  So we are talking about ovulating on CD2 or CD 3, at best.  I am not a doctor so I don’t know whether that is possible or not, but I would guess that it is incredibly unlikely.  And since you started the OPKs on day 10, we don’t know what they would have said on day 8 or 9.  Maybe someone else has another theory that makes more sense, but I feel like being pregnant from last cycle is more likely?

Just get into your doctor for some bloodwork and explain the situation.  You want them to test your hcg and then test again in a couple days.  You’re definitely pregnant IMO, whether that is a normal pregnancy or ectopic needs to be evaluated by the doctor.

FWIW I had a “period” that wasn’t a period it was implantation bleeding.  But it was heavy enough I used my cup and it was bright red blood and lasted 3-4 days.  So I assumed period as it was just like my normal periods on BCP and it was my first period off BCP so I had no real periods to compare it to yet (I wasn’t TTC either).  So I didn’t find out I was pregnant until i missed the next period and I was 8 weeks.  And we didn’t find THAT info out until I was 16 weeks along.  I’m not sure I am following your timeline of events though.  But it appears to me you have been pregnant since around the time you started bleeding.  Either way, I’d get back to your doctor and have bloodwork redone and then done again to make sure it is properly doubling or if hcg is high enough an ultrasound.
