This is from David’s Bridal its 450-500 depending if it is on sale.  Halter A-line chiffon.  It is my dress.  It isn’t puffy or heavy at all.  It is available in both white and ivory.  I don’t think the train is very long and it could easily be altered to remove it.  I think if you order it online it gets to you even faster than from the store.  With that said I think I had my dress in 4-6 weeks and I ordered from the store.

@hernameisrio:  It was so hard to find any dress with straps of some sort.  I wish I had better suggestions.  1000 seems a lot for something stained.  I was of the mindset that I didn’t want to spend a lot on something I woud wear once.  I picked this out online and after trying on 6-7 dreses I knew this was the one.  It was comfy.   Now to hope it is just as comfy in about 9 days.  I wish I could say I had seen the ivory but I haven’t.  I bet they have other chiffon ivory dresses on hand that maybe could help give her an idea.  If I can think of anything else I will post.

Halter gown, beach wedding! This is my daughter’s dress from 2 years ago, so I’m not sure if its still available. Beach wedding too and small train with chiffon and in ivory.  Not sure of the designer, but I can find out.

She could try J.Crew? I got the Adelaide gown, which is a kind of halterneck. The J.Crew dresses are very destination-y, and not overly bridal looking.

Here’s my dress, Mori Lee, price was $500.  I found that by looking at the designers “Destination” lines, I usually found more of the style I was after.

I wouldn’t even bother looking for dresses with no train- they’re really hard to find and can very easily have a train cut off.

@hernameisrio:  No matter what she picks I hope she loves it!  That is what is most important.  I had a great experience at DB both when I went for bridesmaids and my dress.  We made appointments and also went on week nights.  The evenings made it less crowded as did the week day bit.  I also don’t live in a big city either so that probably helped.  I think your consultant also makes a difference and mine was excellent and helpful.
