Hello Bees! I’m having a sunday brunch wedding for about 40 Guests in the Hamilton Ontario area, and am trying to keep costs low. I’m finding a very hard time of this… especially venues that accomodate both a ceremony and reception. Any ideas or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Have you looking into the Cambridge Mill or Ancaster Mill?

@lauralynn: Are you open to a place that’s within an hour of Hamilton? I know an amazing place that Sunday Brunch is $25pp, not including alcohol that’s roughly 55 minutes away and just off the 401. They’ve got gorgeous options for ceremony and several different rooms for small events and their rate for having your ceremony and reception there is pretty reasonable.

There’s the Paletta Mansion in Burlington, which is pretty close. Lovely setting, good prices and both ceremony and reception can take place there. They offer Sunday brunch, which is what I am also doing. There are multiple rooms you can use for the reception, but when I went to look they quoted me $2500 for renting the whole place – which unfortuntely more than I wanted to spend.

@Cappugcino: Thanks for the reply! We’re definitely okay with a bit of travel, where were you thinking of?
I believe I had looked into Paletta, but like yourself it’s just more than what we want to spend. I found that the city-owned sites appear deceptively affordable at first…

I’m not sure if you’re still looking I just saw Hamilton and thought I should respond, although I’m doing a dinner wedding in Toronto so I’m probably not much help. The Courtyard on Locke or Sarcoa could be restaurant options. Lo Presti’s by Maxwell’s is expensive (and delicious!) for dinner but they do have a lunch menu and an auxillary room attached to their main restaurant, maybe they would do a brunch wedding. If you haven’t found anything yet good luck!
