Hey Bay Area Bees,
For those of you who hand-cancelled your invites, which post office did you go to? My local post office (Berkeley) claims they don’t even have a hand-cancelling stamp. I am starting to think it’s a myth! I’d love to hand cancel my invites, please let me know if you know of any post offices that will let me do this in the Bay Area!

I think you should go to the main USPS office. I think the one Pine Street in San Francisco have a hand cancelled stamp.
Also if you are doing this to prevent the envelope from going through the machine, it usually does to add the bar code. I am not sure if its the case for every post office. The best time to go and do this early morning or right after the post office opens as there are less people around.

I’m sorry I live on the opposite side of the country…NJ, but it’s not a myth! My mom hand cancelled all of my invites herself. She went to the post office and asked and they gave her a stamp and let her work at a table and do it yourself. I’d go around to a few or call first and ask because there should be some that do it. Good luck!
