(Closed) Hand cancelling invitations in NYC?

    This is more of a question I guess…  If you take the invitations to someplace like mail boxes, etc where they charge more but are smaller would it be helpful with this?  It would seem you could control it more in a situation like that.

    BeeThereDoneThat: I couldn’t really answer the poll because I had a mixed experience — for my save-the-dates, I went to post office on 38th b/w 7th and 8th aves. They were supposed to hand cancel them (I had oversized postcards — oops!) but ran them through the machine anyway. They also quoted me three different postage costs on each of the three occasions I went there to drop off the postcards. It was beyond frustrating!

    I had a much better experience with my invites at the main post office on 34th street/8th ave. They were hand cancelled properly and also the service I got was far better than any of the other post offices.
