I have a contraption similar to this:

http://www.google.com/products/catalog?client=safari&rls=en&q=clothing+steamer&oe=UTF-8&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=7076211189620518084&sa=X&ei=j6ZaT7q9DdKztweApbyFDA&ved=0CKEBEPICMAI#ps-sellers

I LOVE it!!! The trick is to NOT burn yourself, which I did quite frequently when I first got it!!! For me, it works the best when you put the steamer inside the item you’re straightening, and do it from the inside out, but this traps the steam inside, so be sure to hold it with your non-dominant hand from the outside to avoid a nasty steam burn!

@msdragon:  Great topic!

I actually just ordered a silk chiffon dress from J. Crew on Friday! (I decided I wasn’t sure about the first dress I bought…) It’s the “Angelique” gown. Which one did you order?

Have you used your steamer on anything else with success?

I have a Conair one from Bed Bath and Beyond…got it for a shower gift (told I could start using it right away) it worked great on my silk satin gown and the girls’ chiffon gowns

@msdragon:  Aw, the Sophia is lovely! I was actually considering getting that one. I think I may add wider sheer straps to the Angelique if it works out – we shall see.

Thanks for the product reviews, all! Sounds like a really great investment that I’ll have to make!
