We had a backyard wedding. We found a local caterer and she supplied servers and a bartender. We purchased all our wine, beer and bourban for our signature cocktail, which our caterer made. It was really pretty easy. Don’t really know if we saved any money. I say if you purchase your own booze, always better to over estimate. The leftover we had didn’t go to waste lol.

Make sure you look into your local laws. Some places require you to have a liquor license and/or an actual bartender serving the booze.

We’re doing our own catering and alcohol because of our venue, but honestly I don’t think we’ll be saving any money. The food is expensive, we need to hire servers, bartenders, chefs, etc. (through the catering company) and we had to rent everything. Alcohol is the only thing that will be cheaper.
