i like the idea but it would be something that would have to match my decor for me to really be happy about it. it can go eithet way for me – amazing, thoughtful, one of a kind treasure or something to store in a closet bc it isnt my taste but i would feel terrible about donating/throwing it out
have you been to their home? does she have similar type items? a decor that is afgan friendly?

You still have the wedding where you can then buy something off the registry. No need to do that for the shower when you are giving her something special. It all comes down to preference, and if she’s sentimental and appreciates hand made gifts, she’s not going to think “well I wish she’d at least thrown in a mug or too off my registry”
