vegas62218 : I️ don’t think Luke or Moira know she is in some random house in the middle of the woods in Massachusetts. So that’s unlikely.

I️ was disappointed with this episode- very underwhelming and slow. Basically no new plot developments. Her escape attempts that took up most of the show failed (back at square 1) and we knew she would be having a baby any second so that wasn’t a surprise. I️ really enjoyed season 1, but not impressed with season 2 overall.

So what’s everyone’s speculation as to who shows up to find June and the baby?  Also, what does everyone think the black wolf symbolized?  I do believe it was a female wolf.

One more question for you bees who’ve read the book.  Where does the book end?  Is the show an accurate representation of the book?  Is the book like SOOOO much better.  I’m debating purchasing it on Amazon but I’m not sure.

PrincessPeach13 :  It ends with her thinking she may be pregnant then getting escorted out of the house for participating in the underground I think. Luke was dead in the book. and then there was an epilogue that took place after gilead fell but had nothing to do with June. Her story ends at getting escorted out of the house. I remember reading the book like halfway through season 1 and being very unimpressed with the book. I NEVER like the show/movie rendition of a book. I always enjoy the book more even if I read it after enjoying the show/movie. This was not the case with the Handmaids Tale. It was just an abrupt ending. I didn’t like it.

PrincessPeach13 :  You may like it. I know a lot of people do. I love the show. But the book was just lacking IMO

vegas62218 :  “I am getting old enough to not worry about my own reproductive rights, and have no children. But I worry about family, friends and what this generation will face. Today crushed me and I could only go home and watch The Handmaids Tale and cry. Every week things get worse. And while some say it can’t get as bad as the show…. I hope everyone is aware of the push for a Constitutional Convention/Convention of States. Things could absolutely change that quickly. We need to organize and fight.”

YES TO ALL OF THIS.  At my age reproductive rights won’t be a huge issue for me personally but I cried yesterday thinking about all my friends with daughters.  And my nieces whose own parents did this to them.  My niece recently had me help her with a debate she was taking part in at her catholic school and she had picked women’s right to choose to argue for, she was very passionate about it and I was so thrilled and proud of her when I learned this.  Well, her own parents did their part to take that away from her and ensure she has less rights growing up and in adulthood than her mother did.  And her parents are pro choice!  They are the ones that called and asked me to help her!  They are just IGNORANT voters that liked trumps vulgarity & started to believe some of his b.s..  It makes me positively sick.

The constitutional convention/convention of states scare the shit out of me.  It should scare all of us.

I think the vast majority of people greatly underestimate what the forces in this party want to achieve, what their full vision of remaking this country is and what it looks like.  In conversations I’ve had with trump voters know personally, they don’t have a clue what they are talking about, completely misinformed and ignorant. I know not all trump voters are, some legit want a Gilead USA. I think most actually don’t don‘t.

Dan rather made a good point yesterday:

For decades, Republicans have been able to have it all ways. Promise a radical reactionary rethink of American democracy to its rabid base, and hide behind a court that protected them from what would be a very unpopular set of policies with the general public. Well no longer.

Do we really want to outlaw abortion? We may soon know. Do we really believe we can attack gay rights and other rights at unprecedented levels? We may soon know. Do we really believe that our corporations should have unfettered power and workers have relatively none? Here again, the movement is already afoot.

The farce is shattered, the fig leaf has disappeared.

I am so angry at my friends and family.  I can’t  even.  I am so sad for my country.

Sorry such a long post. I just wanted to compliment yours, but then went into a full on vent.

PrincessPeach13 :  Season One was the end of the book – right down to June heading off into the unknown.

solnishko1186: All I could keep thinking was how dumb she was being. It’s like an abused person not really sure she should get the hell out of a relationship, and just sticking around waiting for her partner to hit her one more time.

Also, no chance would she have been able to shoot them, too few bullets, too great a chance of them getting to her first. She had no experience with guns (at least I don’t remember her doing target practice/having history), and she would have given away her location. I’m just surprised these people are so damn stupid they didn’t see her tracks in the snow to the car!

This show is definately the most cringe worthy disturbing show I have ever watched (and I am a huge binge watcher if Game of Thrones) but this show is crazy. After every episode a need like an hour to just get back to normal I am so angry and sad about it all sometimes.. it’s still a very good show and my husband doesnt understand why I watch something that upsets me so much. I dont know proabbly because it is a lot more realistic than GOT, and this is the kind of bs that can actually happen…and afrer every episode I am so happy I live in Canada!!

I was infuriated and disappointed with Season finale. It seems the whole season 2 was not as captivating and falling flat. And now we have 3 June escape attempts. It’s getting unoriginal. And she CHOSE to stay when multiple people have risked their lives to facilitate her escape- wtf is that about, makes no sense. Also how will baby survive with no food whatsoever (as June was breastfeeding) before getting out. She didn’t feed the baby while running, so it might be a long time before baby can eat again. And after getting her finger chopped of and loosing her baby, Serena should take up the move to Hawaii offer.

I think they really messed up with the finale. There was no reason for June to stay. I suppose you could say she needed to stay for Hannah now that Nicole was going to be safe. But come on! That was so out of character. Nick, June, and all of the marthas should be killed for that. Keeping them alive wouldn’t be realistic in Gilead. The writers should have let June go, and had her decide to go back in for Hannah after spending time in Canada.

I literally woke up with a headache from the tension of the finale.  I spent five minutes alternately screaming, “Run! Get in the car!” and hiding my head under a blanket because I felt it would be unbearable to watch her get caught.

On one hand I get that she wants to rescue her other child, and I do wonder what parent could leave their kid behind in the first place, esp a young girl in that Pence Place.

But how can she rescue her own child if she is captured and hung?

The finger cut off for reading.. the betrayal of Serena’s husband… the women finally realizing they had thoughts on their lives and they weren’t too happy about the idea of their own daughters being drowned for being “disobedient”- it all felt a little too close to home. The courage it took for those women to finally agree to talk to one another was heartbreaking and their betrayal of Serena because she chose to read was even worse.

God help us all, this is way too close for comfort. Please make sure you and your friends vote this November!

I’m so upset with the finale!!!! Why wouldn’t she just go obtain Canadian citizenship, through political asylum, and then return for Hannah once she has that back up! I can’t even think about how the next season could possibly play out without Nick dying and that would just be terrible!

I was ugly crying while she was running… and then that car came and I actually wanted to hug that guy for helping… and then she doesnt get into the car. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK JUNE?!?!

Should have gone to Canada… and then tried to rescue Hannah. UGH.
