I want to make ornaments of my baby’s handprint (I need 3, one for Darling Husband & me, and one for each set of grandparents) but don’t want to fork over $14 a kit, that starts adding up fast.
I tried polymer clay, I had a hard time getting it soft enough, by the time I kneaded it forever and used clay softener additive, it had little flecks of dust in it (very obvious on white clay!), and then it stuck horribly to baby’s hand.
I was thinking either salt dough or plaster of paris. Anybody have experience with making handprint molds/ornaments? What would you recommend? I want this to last years, my entire lifetime.
