I think some men, for whatever reason, have a higher proclivity to constantly adjust.

Husband is pretty good at not doing it too often, I rarely see him go inside, its mostly just outside, I love making fun of him doing this & then I mock him pretending to adjust my invisible junk ๐Ÿ˜‰

Hahaha, I joked to my SO that I was gonna buy him this for Christmas. He’s always digging around down there. It’s a man thing.

@MrsMaine: Yeah unfortunately I dont think theres much that you can do! DH doesnt do it that much but we used to live with DHs best man and he would do it all the time. Talk about awkward. I finally had DH say something to him about it but it didnt totally stop because thats just what guys do – they dont even think about it!

Just remove his hand every single time you see him doing it. Once he realizes how often you are doing it, he’ll become more aware of it.

Yea you’re never going to erase this habit. Sometimes we’re sitting there watching tv and I look over at DH with his hands down his pants and I’m just like… really? lol

I would mostly just focus on appropriate times for it. I.e. when you two are alone in your home… let it be. When you’re in public or with other people? Leave the junk alone. ๐Ÿ™‚

Yeah – I’m pretty sure all guys do this.  It’s just normal for them.  I’d just talk to him about trying to be more aware of it at work / in public but when you guys are at home alone, don’t worry about it.

My guy does this too and I think most men I know of. But he only does this when we are alone. It doesnt really bother me though, because he doesnt do it around anyone else

Also with the “adjusting” issue, the type of underwear should help this I cant remember but either tighter briefs or looser boxers work better and need less adjusting

My fiance doesn’t do this but our roommate does.  I’m always amused when I walk into the living room and Fiance is playing Halo and roomie is sitting there watching with his hand down his pants.  I always point and laugh at him.  Apparently he doesn’t even realize he’s doing it!

I think I’m in the minority here, I’ve never seen a man do this. My exes never did and my husband doesn’t do it. My husband said he did it when he was a young child, but his parents corrected the behavior. When told he couldn’t touch himself by his mom he replied, “but it’s mine!”

My husband does this a lot at home but never out in public. I always laugh when I see him talking on the phone with his hand down his pants. It looks ridiculous but it’s an unconcious action for men.

I’m with Maureen9004. I’ve never seen a guy do this either. I think that if this is something that could get him fired (as you mentioned), it IS something that needs to be corrected. There’s a big difference between doing it at home and standing in front of someone at work and doing it. I really liked crayfish’s idea of removing his hand.

Also, I don’t think it’s “a guy thing.” Men are just as capable of correcting bad habits as women. This isn’t a habit like biting nails or twirling your hair – there IS a whole other level of bad connotation. I’d really try and help out your Fiance with this one. :/

Mine does this too, but not too often (at least when I’m around) and never in front of others. While watching tv, he tends to do this a few nights a week. Men! ๐Ÿ™‚

I used to baby sit a couple little boys who had their hands in their pants like 24/7.  When I’d see it, I’d give them something to do with their hands (like hold a toy, play with a puzzle or help clean up/stir soup/whatever).  They stopped doing it quite so much after that.  ๐Ÿ™‚
